Supe era el término para referirse a personas que viven en el ártico, no comprendí entonces por qué me llamaba así. Dijo que por los rasgos físicos: -tienes nariz de bombita, labios que cuando se incomodan se hacen un cerito apretado, y ojos que al reír se rasgan hasta no ver. Pero sobre todo tienes la resiliencia de quiénes pueden vivir eternamente en la más cruel oscuridad, porque les basta con el sol que llevan dentro.

Aquella frase siempre ha quedado latente en mí. Tan honda llegó que por más destrozada que me sienta al pensar en cómo acabaron las cosas entre nosotros, no puedo evitar llenarme de cariño. Hoy, mientras limpiaba la galería me topé con una colección de fotos que me regaló un día. Mi amigo es fotógrafo y le apasiona mucho el trabajo en blanco y negro. A mí también siempre me ha gustado, incluso para mí trabajo promocional prefiero usar fotos de este estilo.

a retazos de noche triste, noche que llora,

Le escribí ese poema en oda a su afán por África. Le apasionan esas temáticas de estudios étnicos y religiosos. Pasábamos horas hablando sobre eso.

Para esa sección de fotos, que hicimos una tarde de café, tabaco y ron en su apartamento, me hizo usar algunos accesorios que él mismo había traído de uno de sus viajes. Disfruté posar mientras me contaba de sus aventuras por lejanos países de ese continente. De los mitos detrás de las prendas y la religión que abunda en esos lares.

Para una de las fotos me pidió usar un collar negro, de cuero torcido con pelos de caballo. Refirió que es un aditamento de uso semireligioso y que usado sin los cuidados debidos surtía efectos no siempre positivos en las personas. Recuerdo que comencé con tremendo dolor de cabeza rato después de llevarlo puesto.
