Splinterlands has a variety of game modes, offering various ways of acquiring the game's main token, the SPS. And today I'm going to talk about one of them, which is tournaments.

For me, this is the most fun of all, as you can face the most varied opponents and you must beat most of them to advance to the next stage. It gives you an adrenaline rush, feeling like you're in a competition, and you get very excited about playing.

The vast majority of them are made by the Splinterlands team, and allow you to place your battles within 24 hours of starting them, so you don't have to be present at the exact moment they begin. You just need to meet the requirements, which are: a certain amount of SPS in stake (you can rent and this will count too), and a certain amount of Power, which can be acquired by renting or buying cards.

The prize pools are very attractive and varied, with tournaments ranging from the earliest levels to the most advanced. This means that the best players are present in most of them, which is a good thing, as you'll have the chance to face them and beat them. 




We've recently had some changes, where the fees for taking part in them have been removed. I don't know if this will be temporary, but it's something that might get a lot of players excited about playing.

However, that's not what I want to talk about today, but a point that can be frustrating for some, since the chance of winning is very low, unless you have the best cards in the game and know how to put together very good strategies. That's not what happens in many cases, so there are a lot of dropouts and a large part of the winnings always go to the same people. 

For this reason, I believe that there should be some tournaments where the restrictions are the opposite of what we have, so that average players as well as beginners can have some fun in them. Instead of having a minimum limit of Power required to be able to participate, there should be a maximum amount, where if the player goes over that limit, he won't be able to enter. As for the SPS stake limit, I think it could be kept the same, but with a lower minimum amount required. Another feature that already exists within the game and could be used, in combination with those suggested, is a ban on the use of legendary cards, which are normally the most expensive in the game.

The prizes obviously don't have to be huge, as I believe that many would play just because they enjoy it.


I know that this idea may be frowned upon by more experienced players, but as a player who has been in the beginner, intermediate and even advanced stages at times, I see that many just want to stay in the middle, trying to bring a bit of seriousness but without losing the fun of playing Splinterlands. And I see that this ends up not being possible in tournaments, as they demand too much from players in terms of card collection and understanding the game, leading them to give up on this, which for me is the coolest of all the existing modes, but could be more inclusive of all types of players.

Other existing tournament models could also be explored, such as those in which the player needs to be present at the time they start, in a knockout format. They can be placed at specific times, when there is a higher concentration of active players, or diversified to cater for the entire public that is present within the game. The same restrictions apply to favor the most diverse levels of players. 


These are my suggestions for improving tournaments and ensuring that everyone can enjoy them. I hope that this can help you in some way in your future decision-making.

O Splinterlands possui diversos modos de jogo, trazendo diversas maneiras de você conseguir adquirir o principal token do jogo, o SPS. E hoje irei comentar sobre um deles, que são os torneios.

Para mim, esse é o mais divertido de todos, pois você pode enfrentar os mais variados oponentes e você deve vencer a maioria deles para avançar para a próxima fase. Isso traz toda uma adrenalina, se sentindo em uma competição, onde você fica muito empolgado para jogar.

A grande maioria deles são feitos pela própria equipe do jogo, e permite que você coloque suas batalhas em até 24 horas após o início dele, fazendo com que não seja necessário estar presente no exato momento em que se inicia. Você só precisa cumprir os requisitos que são: determinada quantidade de SPS em stake(você pode alugar e isso irá contar também), e determinada quantidade de Power, que pode ser adquirida através do aluguel ou da compra de cartas.

As premiações são muito atraentes, além de serem muito variados, com torneios desde os níveis mais iniciais, até os mais avançados. Isso faz com que os melhores jogadores estejam presentes em boa parte deles, o que é positivo, pois você terá a chance de enfrentá-los e derrotá-los. 




Recentemente tivemos algumas alterações, onde foram removidas as taxas para participar deles. Não sei se isso será temporário, mas é algo que pode fazer muitos jogadores se animarem de jogar.

Porém, não é disso que eu quero falar hoje, e sim de um ponto que pode ser frustrante para alguns, já que a chance de você vencer é muito baixa, a não ser que você tenha em mãos as melhores cartas do jogo e saiba montar estratégias muito boas. Isso não é o que acontece em muitos casos, fazendo com que haja muitas desistências, e que boa parte dos prêmios sempre vá para as mãos dos mesmos. 

Por esse motivo, acredito que deveriam existir alguns torneios em que as restrições sejam o oposto do que temos, assim os jogadores medianos e também os iniciantes tenham alguma possibilidade de se divertir neles. Ao invés de ter um limite mínimo de Power necessário para poder estar apto a participar, colocar uma quantidade máxima, aonde se o jogador passar daquele limite, não poderá entrar. Quanto ao limite de SPS em stake, acho que poderia se manter da mesma forma, porém diminuindo a quantia mínima necessária. Outro recurso que já existe dentro do jogo e poderia ser usado, em combinação aos que foram sugeridos, é a proibição do uso de cartas lendárias, que são as mais caras do jogo normalmente.

As premiações obviamente não precisam ser grandes, pois acredito que muitos iriam jogar só por que gostam mesmo.

Sei que essa ideia pode ser mal vista pelos jogadores mais experientes, mas como jogador que já esteve na fase de iniciante, intermediário e até chegou em alguns momentos a avançado, vejo que muitos apenas querem se manter no meio, tentando trazer um pouco de seriedade mas sem perder a diversão de jogar Splinterlands. E vejo que isso acaba não sendo possível de se fazer nos torneios, já que exigem demais dos jogadores quanto a coleção de cartas e entendimento do jogo, levando a desistência desse que para mim, é o modo mais legal de todos os existentes, mas poderia incluir mais todos os tipos de jogadores.

Outros modelos de torneio já existentes também poderiam ser explorados, como aqueles que o jogador precisa estar presente na hora em que se inicia, no formato de mata mata. Eles podem ser colocados em horários específicos, quanto tem uma concentração maior de jogadores ativos, ou diversificar para atender a todo o público que está presente dentro do jogo. As mesmas restrições são válidas para favorecer os mais diversos níveis de jogadores. 


Essas são minhas sugestões para melhorar os torneios e fazer com que todos possam se divertir através deles. Espero que isso possa de alguma forma ajudar em futuras tomadas de decisões a respeito disso.
