[steemit-idea!] When changing our vote it should go to neutral state not the opposite side!
https://i.imgsafe.org/9326173a47.jpg

Many times I upvote a post because I am in a rush to be one of the first that voted a promising post ...
Often I come on conclusions just reading the title or only 1-2 paragraphs... So many times I have changed my mind after reading the whole post and **I wanted to take my vote back BUT I DIDN’T**...Why? Because I must take the opposite voting position and not a neutral position!!!

I think it make more sense when we take a vote back to just come to the previous state
**"NO VOTE"** for the post...
If I don't upvote a post it doesn't mean necessary I don't like it or I think that it is abusive... I just want to ignore it, take a neutral position (not vote at all)...

Many "whales" do the same as I concluded... (specially if they use bots)
> "At the end of each day I go back and review what it has voted for and read each article, mostly for enjoyment or information, but also to ensure that the bot is making good decisions."
https://steemit.com/curation/@steemed/im-a-steem-whale-looking-for-writers

Why should a post take a downvote from a whale when he just regretted for an upvote he made?
(the opposite is true also)

That was easy!BUT t was not obvious to me ! (probably not for others too) That same thing should happen clicking the downvote button (after an upvote of course) and with a second click we could really downvote...

PS the way it is now could probably lead to neutralize by mistake an upvote! (for example when we logged out for some seconds and we think we forgotten to upvote a post) Now I recall such a experience I had myself(!) and I thought the system mistakenly asked me about the reset of curation rewards !!! Now I can understand why a post that I swear I had upvoted it was "without votes" and I re-upvoted it !!!!

So I suggest to neutralize/reset the vote by clicking to the opposite direction... (and block the way it happens now)

If the voting button looked like a physical button (with a green light indicating whether it is on or off), it would be quite obvious and intuitive. The downvote button could have a red glow to indicate a downvote. But hey, that's how it already is. Upvote turns green and downvote turns red. So why isn't it intuitive? It doesn't look enough like a button. Actually a switch might be even better.

@pfunk ·
Yeah that's the behavior that is most intuitive to me. Unless there's some big issue with the code that would prevent votes going neutral that's what I'd like to see happen too.

Your answer is a proove you didn't realized (like me) that we can reset the vote in the current system just clicking the same vote button again like @idealist had figured out ! (above response)
