Explaining Steemit is so hard

Me, as a newbie trying to explain Steemit to a friends, but some people think is scam :(

Do you have any advice about how to explain Steemit easily?

Sometimes it sucks to do it, but showing them actual payouts usually does the trick of convincing people. Then once they make there way on here they figure out pretty quickly it's for real.

I definitely understand the frustration. I just made a post about how people think it's a scam but I just used money made from a steemit rap contest to buy my son lunch on vacation... So I guess my full stomach is a scam too.
