On a walk through the forest, I found a strange mushroom growing on a log. The thing is positively ugly as sin. I wrote about it in another [post](https://hive.blog/hive-119845/@litguru/my-forest-friend). In the picture below, you see a few smaller clusters of that particular mushroom growing on the same log. They almost look cute... almost.

The largest of the mushrooms in this cluster is about the size of an egg. Now look at the size of the following specimen. It grew in the same log but it's size was much larger.  Think watermelon for size and consistency. A fruiting body that only a mother could love.
