With this post in our #community **I will show you our FOURTH PART of our long #Journey of moving countries a different way.** 😎 Do read to the end as you see some cute things there 🥰😉

I know I know… I promised to update you sooner 😇 but believe me once we crossed the Cairngorms I had no mobile reception 📡 anymore (still a Spanish number 🤐) and the Wi-Fi/ internet was almost non existent in the next 2 holiday accommodations. The little bit I could do was just enough to write a few comments, my community comment moderation, voting your posts… just uploading a photo was NOT possible. So I am sorry for that. 
I had to wait… until today. 😎 I sooooo badly wanted to show you more sooner.

I have at the moment a very…. And I mean a VERY bad wifi connection. I am as we speak working on a long term better internet connection 🤓 so I can engage like you are used to from me 🤓 So please bear with me a little bit longer… updates are on their way, it takes me forever to upload photos at the moment. Hahahaha 🤣 Luckily I am patient… for 3 photos to upload, I have cooked dinner…  
I don’t want to publish a post without them 🥰

Back to my story now: 
**We started our next trip in DRUMOAK, Aberdeenshire in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿**  and we drove about 120 km / 75 Miles further WEST this time. We stopped for some “sightseeing” along the way (read here…. Jackie had to take photos with the Canon 📸 of everything 🤣😂) and the necessary food and drink stops. ☕️🥪🥗

**We reached GRANTOWN ON SPEY in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 this part of our trip.**

We were staying there again 3 nights and this ended on 14 January when we traveled further… much further again hehehe 🤭 
I will show you the next trip soon as I am working on getting decent internet as we speak 😉😁 so stay tuned for the last parts in the following days. Internet and weather permitting! 

Yep *weather permitting* too, I landed at the moment in a ❄️ **WINTER WONDERLAND** ❄️ literally… it’s white everywhere. 15 cm of snow when I arrived and it is building up to more. Yesterday I measured in some places 30 cm. 
Of course I have built a snowman ☃️ I will show you some photos soon 🥰😉 but I won’t tell you more than that right now 😁

I counted the DISTANCE traveled together until GRANTOWN ON SPEY.
Last total was 2852 km/ 1771.8 Miles.

🚗✈️🚗✈️🚗 **So we have traveled now 2972 km/ 1846.7 Miles and we are not done yet 😎 let’s travel a bit  further….** 🚗✈️🚗✈️🚗

Will we continue over the road? Or do we get on a boat… or a plane again…. I won’t tell you yet, you have to wait and find out just a little bit later 😉😎 very soon you will know where I ended up 🗺 (don’t tell if you know 😉)

**Let me hold you not longer in suspense and show you now PART 4 of our journey from 11 January 2023** 😉 IT WAS EPIC! I MUST SAY…

We loaded up the car again with all the suitcases 🧳 and we started driving after checking out in the late morning. The skies were clear and a lovely day has started. We are so lucky so far with the weather.

Suddenly I see a lighthouse… a small one and more like a decoration, but still cool to find this along the road 😎 far away from the sea.

We are driving the **old military road** now through the Cairngorms.

On the other side we see the roadworks, they are redoing the surface and sides of the road.

Just after the roadworks and around a corner I see pheasants… and a lot of them. CAN YOU COUNT 10 OF THEM? 😁 (yes, I know the photo isn’t great quality… but search for their white necks and brown body… it will help) 😎

Those poles along the road are markers, so you know… when the snow is high, where the road is and what side of the road you are driving.

At a place were we could park, I jumped out… just had to put my hand in the snow ❄️

It was rather frozen on the top, so I couldn’t make a dent in the surface… but still… needed to capture this moment 😉🥰❄️

It’s cold so the first thing I do is light a fire 🔥 😎

The next morning when I wake up, I can finally see the view outside.

We can walk right into the forest and onto some trails. What we have done in the following days of course. Posts will follow about my walks here.

In the late morning some red squirrels came to visit 🥰 the boards are frozen if you look closely under the seats…

And I was surr NOW you finally arrived and show us the final destination. Aaaarg, it feels like chrismas... Waiting to open the presents. Lol. But compliments. What a journey. I remember when I was on road trips I always was skinny as hell because of less eating aka stops and breaks for food. Take care of you my friend. Amazing photos like always, the squirrel is soooo cute. Love them. How long will it takes til you arrive at your final place? One month more? Oh please eat well and sleep enough. (now I sound like a mother 😂😂😂😂😂)

It sure is different traveling from one destination to the next one. Sometimes shops and restaurants are closed… or no towns anywhere close by. One does loose some kg on a long trip. Will do, no worries.

Are you traveling by car from Spain to there? Wow, I'm in Spain and this year I'm going to visit Scotland, but I'll go by plane haha. I would love to be able to do a road route as long as the one you are doing. It looks really fun and interesting, plus having the freedom to get around villages and other lesser known landscapes. I also loved the house where you stayed, in a quiet place in the woods, with nature and squirrels. The fireplace sure was comforting for the cold it seemed to be outside. Have a nice trip! and I look forward to reading more

We are mostly traveling by car… but… 😁 first to the airport in Malaga. Then we flew to England (Birmingham) where we traveled to my husbands family and stayed over the holidays. We started driving all the way up since 5 January by car. I think we traveled on the road by car in the UK a bit over 1200 km so far in England and Scotland. And we are not done yet. 
It’s so much fun. So much to see and experience! 
In 2015 I drove (emigrated) from the Netherlands all the way down to south Spain in a classic mini 🚗 so I have done long road trips before. It is epic. You will never forget a journey like that. 

I so understand what you mean, having a car you can travel and see so much more off the beaten paths. 
Hope you can do it one day. 

The cottage was such a cute place to stay for 3 nights. We surely needed that fireplace it was freezing temperatures outside. ❄️❄️☃️❄️❄️

All the photos and the scenery are stunning... What an epic journey you have. I love everything about this road trip... The snowy mountains is my favorite and I would have to touch that ice too if I ever see snow  haha. And the squirrels are too cute.

I could get used to that view too… and the squirrels. I haven’t seen any yet where I am. But people say deer, otters and squirrels are around 🤞🏻🤞🏻 so hope to see some. 
The journey ended…. my internet is still truly bad and I am working hard to find a solution. I will try to post another update from the trip in the next 2 days, depends how fast the photos upload. 
We got our belongings on Sunday 🚛🚛📦📦 yay! Finally after more than a month.

That's one hell of a road trip!

We stayed in the Cairngorms for a few days last Summer (in Boat of Garten which is located close to Aviemore on your map (one of my posts [here](https://peakd.com/hive-127788/@dannewton/cairngorms-national-park-holiday-2022-part-4))

Its a stunning location, and you've got the bonus of snow too!

Really lucky to see that Red Squirrel, as a species they are declining sharply and have disappeared from most of the UK. The best place to see them is now up North in Scotland

Yep it sure is 😎 I love every moment of it. 
So cool you stayed close to the area we were in. I have seen the name along the road driving to the next stop. Everything around there is so beautiful. And I think every season has it’s charm. 
And we sure got snow… will post some more snowy photos. 
I just checked out your post. Beautiful captures. You found also a photo post pole thing. I did too. So far just one. This was while driving on the highest part of the Cairngorms. Beautiful walk you had. 
I hope to be able to post some of my walks too soon, with my canon captures. 

I heard the red squirrel population is growing again in the cairngorms, up in Scotland. Let’s hope it continues 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I've only ever been to Scotland once (when I was about 10) a very long time ago. but I do remember watching anglers fishing for Salmon in the fast moving rivers as they jumped the rapids. An amazing sight, really must go back there one day after seeing your photos !LOL

Beautiful landscapes with these mountains... Scotland is a country I would like to visit one of these days, especially to visit some whisky distilleries 😀
I understand your internet problem, where I'm it isn't good at all but I finally found a spot where the network is working slowly but working.

The scenery around there is stunning and it gets better the further west you go. 
Yep, they are on my list too, although I am a rum kind of girl hehehe but it is the whole experience that’s cool and a must do in Scotland. I hope you can visit one day 😊
It is a struggle… no mobile reception or internet. 
Glad you found a spot that works for you, although slow… it works. Funny that one can’t do really without internet nowadays.

This is really an awesome journey! Your photo of the lighthouse was special as it brought some memories to mind...of a time not even that long ago... 

Up until March 2021, we lived in an area called Kloof. From our house, we had a view looking out over the gorge. On the opposite side of the gorge was a house that had a lighthouse looking exactly the same as the one in your photo...the same shape and size that is. It was just white and red in color. 

But it was fully operational and worked like a real lighthouse. In the evenings after dark, the owners would turn it on and while standing in our lounge, you could see the lighthouse working on the other side of the gorge.

I can remember how we often treated the family when they came to visit us from Johannesburg. We would take them out during the daytime and drive past the lighthouse for them to see. Then, at night time, we would have them stand in our lounge and show them the working lighthouse in the dark.

This was an awesome post with some stunning views, Jackie. I love the cottage in your photos and cannot wait to see the photos of your walks.

The cottage looks warm and cozy after such a long drive and cold a place like that looks comfy with a fireplace. 
The snow on the road looks beautiful and must have made the drive exciting.

It was cold (freezing) when we arrived, but once the fire was on, about 1,5 hour later it was nice 😊 
I just love fireplaces… they are such a different heat.  Perfect for wintery landscapes ☃️☃️☃️
There were some areas a bit tricky. But 98% was easy drivable so all good. 
I am used to driving in snow and icy conditions, so I took over the driving when needed during our adventures. Especially the last part of our trip 😉
I was surprised too by that white footbridge, popping up along the road… surrounded by forests. It just stood out so much. I am happy you enjoyed the scenery with me Joe, it is stunning. 
I am glad I finally could… as I have so much to share. No internet isn’t funny hahaha 🤣

I feel the vibes too, went on a road trip through Scotland in 2019, and we stayed two days in the Cairngorms in Aviemore! Amazingly beautiful region
