Yes, renovating such an iconic house does teach you a lot. And like you said, many around New England that are looking for some TLC. 
I so understand what you mean. The older houses have charm and give a certain warmth. The newly builds mostly lack that. I love older houses just for that. And don’t start about all the woodwork that can be inside…. And a fireplace… love love love 🥰

That’s a great way to pay it forward. Think I also left something useful for others in gardens when we moved. But nuttrees are just for the long term. That sounds amazing that they are over 100 years old. 

Hahaha he wanted to buy them, of course… in that condition they are worth so much, he can’t pay you that. Those should never be moved. Enjoy them 😊

I have been using Zillow.com to look at property back home in Connecticut or Massachusetts or Long Island, NY. The prices have fallen in some places, but hold on to your hats. As the interest rates go up, the bottom will come out of the market. In Connecticut, for instance, the prices are so low, compared to what they were. But, guess what?  The taxes are not! The taxes did not drop with the prices! That is a little unusual!

I have fun too - I just finally finished life with the family and will continue marketing! 

Yikes! Running so late!

Thanks for that info Denise, I did have Zillow bookmarked and had a look around a few times. Getting via email market reports from some areas. 
I read about the interest rates… crazy… it won’t be sustainable. 
We will have to wait and see. Good to hear the prices dropped a bit.
