I spoke to a Swedish friend, a while ago. She wanted to open a coinbase account for her mom to get her into crypto but couldn't connect it to her Swedish bank account as that bank wasn't doing deals with crypto companies. Many Central banks / governments doesn't like crypto yet because it's hard to regulate them. But cashless society means shifting to digital not necessarily crypto currency. Instead of coinbase did you try any other site? I don't use coinbase too but I use some other local exchanges to convert fiat to crypto.
