Well, the basic concept is just _burning money for deflation purposes_ and you get a little thank you by the @promoted account. lol...

Well, so far it isn't really helping because I think I read somewhere, to be literally visible you got bet on something as high as the latest post earnings (of some sort). 
But of course, neither this nor the @gtpjfoodbank post has hundreds earned yet. It didn't even pass $10 LOL...

Yet it is also kind of interesting how we can keep the SBD in value (on demand) by burning it. The whole concept of that @ana-marie shared with me in the context of how government regulates fiat currency sure sparked my curiosity that it also applies here.

Which means if we "over print" ourselves it is also a risk lowering the value of STEEM and SBD too.

Well, basically I tried to use post promotion to see what happens next. Apparently when you use the post promotion, you end up shredding your SBD into limbo (in the @null account) and that SBD is never used again until the system changes.
This reduces the circulation amount of SBD, hence keeping SBD _in demand_ and that, increases value. 
Of course, Steemit doesn't want you to just destroy your liquidated earnings just like that, hence the _destruction service_ they have provided, making you _burn_ your SBD while promoting your post. 
I **might** probably try again to be very sure of it. Because I have no idea who's the generous voter that has given me $2 worth of upvote! LOL.
More digging is required I am pretty sure of it!

Thanks for the insights from your side too @ethandsmith ! I guess this is actually a blessing since the value is now higher than my promoted value spent! LOL. 

So in theory, if we _burn_ SBD (for the sake of deflation) and then #theunmentionables writers supports in return (if the content is really superb of course) , this could be a nice little "balancing" and slow down "over printing" ?

LOL... thanks @mikepm74 . I was very curious where has my SBD gone to. I might as well stick to 1 SBD and at least loose only 50% of it to be burnt haha....
Now I am curious who got me that $2 value vote! At least I am not on the losing end today. hahaha....

true @uwelang , I was just testing the @null and see how it works, and burn the SBD and see if that makes the value go up in the real time exchange lol. (It could you know lol) 
It was a really interesting experiment to do, and also something good to write about as well.
