I will tell you why before I tell you about poly... More than 14 years ago we had in the house a little dog very dear to all of us, we named him Bethoven, he was a Harlequin Great Dane, a huge and beautiful little dog, he was with us from one month old until 12 human years.
 
I wouldn't lie to you if I told you that Beethoven was like my brother, it was 12 long years, he only needed to talk, I swear! Beethoven's personality was known by everyone, in my family we all understood what he wanted to express, in the whole area where I live he was well known for being very friendly and he was not a very common breed.
 
Beethoven was really very beautiful and striking, people said he looked like a calf, haha, he stood on 2 legs to play and he was more than 2 meters tall and standing in his normal position, about 1 meter, he was really VERY big! that's why he was so striking and was so well known by everyone.

>Les contaré por qué antes de hablarles de poly… Hace más de 14 años tuvimos en la casa un perrito muy querido por todos nosotros, lo llamamos Bethoven, era un Gran Danés Arlequín, un perrito enorme y hermoso, que estuvo con nosotros desde el mes de edad hasta 12 años humanos.
 
>No les mentiría si les dijera que Beethoven era como mi hermano, fueron 12 largos años, solo le faltaba hablar ¡Se los juro! La personalidad de Beethoven era conocida por todos, en mi familia todos entendíamos lo que quería expresar, en toda la zona donde vivo era muy conocido por ser muy amigable y es que no era una raza muy común.
 
>Beethoven en verdad era muy bonito y llamativo, las personas decían que parecía un becerrito, jaja, se paraba en 2 patas para jugar y medía más de 2 metros y parado en su posición normal, como 1 metro, realmente era ¡MUY grande! por eso llamaba tanto la atención y era tan conocido por todos.

The thing is that Beethoven died a few days after my older sister died of cancer, apparently he was hit by a car of a person who was drunk, it went into the entrance of the house where he was standing and died of a traumatic brain injury, some neighbors saw when the car hit him 😔💔.
 
You don't know how painful that month was for all of us, the loss of my sister was very recent, in fact, we still don't get over it in the family and the subsequent loss of Beethoven was a lot for us because he was also another member 💔.
 
I'm not lying to you when I say that my family was so affected that we all decided never to have another puppy, the pain was too much, of course maximized by the loss of my sister, we were more than 10 years without wanting to know anything about pets in the house, the grief was to the extreme painful.
 
However, of all of us, my brother was the one who got through it all the best, he kept always wanting to bring a new puppy to the house as he had one when he lived with his ex partner from whom he separated, so he kept motivating us all, until 3 years ago we accepted to adopt one, we named her **Grey** 😍 a beautiful pitbull.
 
Grey came to brighten our days during the pandemic, she accompanied us, made us laugh a lot and filled us with a lot of love, that's why she became my daughter and little sister of my little nephew Luis Angel. Unfortunately Grey was born in a litter of 8 siblings that began to die at 6 months of age one by one in their different homes where they had been adopted 😔.

>El asunto es que Beethoven falleció unos pocos días después que falleció mi hermana mayor de cáncer, aparentemente fue un golpe que le dio un carro de una persona que estaba ebria, se metió hacia la entrada de la casa donde él estaba parado y falleció de un traumatismo craneoencefálico, unos vecinos vieron cuando el carro le dio el golpe 😔💔.
 
>No saben lo doloroso que fue ese mes para todos nosotros, la pérdida de mi hermana era muy reciente, de hecho, aun no la superamos en la familia y la posterior pérdida de Beethoven fue mucho para nosotros porque era también un integrante más 💔.
 
>No les miento al decir que mi familia quedó tan afectada que decidimos todos no tener nunca otro perrito, el dolor fue demasiado, por supuesto maximizado por la pérdida de mi hermana, estuvimos más de 10 años años sin querer saber nada de mascotas en la casa, el duelo fue al extremo doloroso.
 
>Sin embargo, de todos nosotros, mi hermano fue el que mejor superó todo, se mantuvo siempre queriendo traer un perrito nuevo a la casa ya que él tenía uno cuando vivía con su ex pareja de quien se separó, así que se mantuvo motivándonos a todos, hasta que hace 3 años aceptamos adoptar una, la llamamos **Grey** 😍 un pitbull hermoso.
 
>Grey llegó a iluminar nuestros días durante la pandemia, nos acompañó, nos hizo reír mucho y nos llenó de mucho amor, por eso se convirtió en mi hija y hermanita de mi sobrinito Luis Ángel. Lamentablemente Grey había nacido en una camada de 8 hermanitos que empezaron a morir a los 3 meses de edad uno por uno en sus diferentes hogares donde habían sido adoptados 😔.

We were worried, but she did not show any symptoms and suddenly she suddenly started to feel bad a few weeks after she was 6 months old. We took her to the vet and a few days later our beautiful Grey sadly passed away, the vet told us that it was probably congenital heart disease because all her siblings died the same 😔💔.
 
My little nephew and the whole family suffered again, especially for my little nephew who was 6 years old at the time and had developed an attachment to her, it hurt a lot. So again we said we will have no more pets! We were heartbroken again 😔.
 
But time passed and a year later my kitty Minie Oreo arrived alone to the house, which I already introduced them to you [Here] and my little nephew got attached to her, so we adopted her 🥰. Finally 3 years after Grey's passing, my brother brought the newest member of the family into our home who we named: **Poly**.
 
I tell you that Poly is a puppy daughter of a mix of a dachshund and a Golden mongrel puppy 🙃 what a funny thing isn't it!!!! 🫠 A friend of my brother was giving her up for adoption and a little sister, my brother asked us again if he could bring her to the house, but we refused again, so tired of the refusal and as he knows we would get attached anyway, he brought her anyway to the house without asking any more 😅.
 
Poly arrived at 1 month old to the house, and when we saw her it was love at first sight 🥰, she was a micro minimized puppy, sleepy, but very scary and missing her mom a lot 🥺. I hate when they do that to a little animal, separating them from their mom being so small seems cruel to me, but the owners had to go on a trip and take their mom with them so they had to give her up now 🥺.

 >Estábamos preocupados, pero ella no presentaba ningún síntoma y de repente de forma súbita comenzó a sentirse mal unas semanas después de cumplir sus 3 meses de edad. La llevamos al veterinario y a los pocos días nuestra hermosa Grey tristemente falleció, el veterinario nos dijo que probablemente fue alguna cardiopatía congénita porque todos sus hermanitos murieron igual 😔💔.
 
>Mi sobrinito y toda la familia sufrimos nuevamente, sobre todo para mi sobrinito que tenía 6 años en ese momento y había desarrollado apego por ella, de dolió muchísimo. Así que nuevamente dijimos ¡no tendremos más mascotas! Teníamos el corazón roto otra vez 😔.
 
>Pero el tiempo pasó y un año después llegó sola mi gatita Minie Oreo a la casa, que ya se las presenté [Aquí] y mi sobrinito se encariñó con ella, así que la adoptamos 🥰. Finalmente 3 años después del fallecimiento de Grey, mi hermano trajo a nuestra casa a la nueva integrante de la familia a la que llamamos: **Poly**.
 
>Les cuento que Poly es una cachorrita hija de una mezcla de un perrito salchicha y una perrita Golden mestiza 🙃 ¡¿qué cosa tan graciosa no?! 🫠 Una amiga de mi hermano la estaba dando en adopción y a una hermanita, mi hermano nos preguntó nuevamente si podía traerla a la casa, pero nos volvimos a negar, así que cansado de la negativa y como sabe que nos encariñaríamos igual, la trajo igual a la casa sin preguntar más 😅.
 
>Poly llegó con 1 mes de edad a la casa, y cuando la vimos fue amor a primera vista 🥰, era una cachorrita micro minimizada, dormilona, pero muy asustadiza y extrañando mucho a su mamá 🥺. Odio cuando le hacen eso a un animalito, separarlos de su mamá siendo tan pequeños me parece una crueldad, pero los dueños tenían que irse de viaje y llevarse a su mamá así que debían entregarla ya 🥺.

When we had Grey, who also arrived when she was very small, I read that we could help them by accompanying her with a stuffed animal so she could feel that they were her siblings and put a shirt with the smell of the person who accompanied her during the day, or her mom's. Grey had a hard time adapting, but she ended up getting used to the stuffed animal we gave her.

With Poly everything was faster, I put him a stuffed animal, but Poly didn't cry the next day, Poly adapted in less than 1 week, and he was already running around being very independent, the only problem now? Her coexistence with our cat daughter Minie Oreo.
 
I told you in the last post that I didn't know what to do, that I was worried about my kitty because I felt she saw Poly as a threat, Minie didn't look like she was going to hurt her, more like scared and I didn't understand why if Poly was half the size of my kitty, she felt that way.
 
I made my post here to ask for your advice because I don't know much, or rather nothing, about cats' attitudes and even less in coexistence with puppies. I read some articles on google, they said to give her 3 days to adjust, up to 1 week, but Poly and Minie had taken longer to get to know each other. 
 
Here at Hive some friends reassured me when they told me to give them as much time as needed.

>Con Poly todo fue más rápido, le puse un peluche, pero ya Poly al día siguiente no lloraba, Poly se adaptó en menos de 1 semana, y ya andaba corriendo por ahí siendo muy independiente ¿el único problema ahora? Su convivencia con nuestra hija gatuna Minie Oreo.
 
>Le comenté en el post pasado que no sabía qué hacer, que estaba preocupada por mi gatita porque sentía que veía a Poly como una amenaza, Minie no se veía como si fuera a hacerle daño, más bien asustada y no entendía el por qué si Poly medía la mitad del tamaño de mi gatita, ella la sentía así.
 
>Hice mi publicación aquí para pedir asesoría de ustedes porque no conozco mucho, mejor dicho, nada, de las actitudes de los gatos y menos en convivencia con perritos. Leí algunos artículos en google, decían que le diéramos 3 días para adaptarse, hasta 1 semana, pero Poly y Minie se habían tardado más en conocerse. 
 
>Aquí en Hive algunos amigos me tranquilizaron cuando me dijeron que les diera el tiempo que fuera necesario.

It has been 1 month since Poly arrived home, we decided to give her her time and to get used to each other's presence, especially to give affection to Minie, who was isolated, she felt displaced, we didn't want her to feel sad and we were worried about not understanding her, but everything is going well.
 
Poly already feels at home, we gave her her first vaccines, we dewormed her and gave her her first bath, she sleeps in a little house that my brother made for Grey and spends the day walking around the house, she sleeps on a small sofa bed that I have in my room in the afternoons, with my dad in his hammock in the morning and so she is too spoiled 🤭.
 
It makes me laugh to think that my brother always wants to bring a pet dog to take care of the house, but we are like those memes that go around, since we have the doggies as humanized as possible almost teaching them the alphabet haha, soon I see her sleeping in my closet 🤭, but don't tell my mom.
 
As you can see friends, nowadays Poly is only 2 months old and she is the most spoiled of the family, my nephews and nieces want to hold her and play with her all the time, my brother has bought her about 5 necklaces, but she is still small and they are too big for her 🤣, until yesterday he got her a small pink one, very beautiful and cute 😍.
 
On the other hand, Minie already recognizes her and doesn't hide, sometimes Poly dawns energetically barking at her, as if she was too big and wants to rebel 😅, and Minie stares at her like "what's this critter got today?" Hahaha sometimes, by the way, she wants to bite Minie's tail, but she throws some paws at her and my brother scolds her because he is afraid she will scratch her face.

>Ya ha pasado 1 meses desde que Poly llegó a la casa, decidimos darle su tiempo y que se fueran acostumbrando a la presencia de cada uno, sobre todo darle cariño a Minie, que estaba aislada, se sentía como desplazada, no queríamos que se sintiera triste y nos preocupaba no entenderla, pero todo marcha bien.
 
>Ya Poly se siente en casa, le pusimos sus primeras vacunas, la desparasitamos y le dimos su primer baño, duerme en una casita que le hizo mi hermano a Grey y pasa el día paseando por la casa, duerme en un pequeño sofá cama que tengo en mi cuarto en las tardes, con mi papá en su hamaca en la mañana y así es demasiado consentida 🤭.
 
>Me da risa pensar que mi hermano siempre quiere traer un perro mascota para cuidar la casa, pero nosotros somos como esos memes que andan por ahí, ya que tenemos a los perritos lo más humanizados posible casi enseñándoles el alfabeto jaja, pronto la veo durmiendo en mi closet 🤭, pero no le digan a mi mama.
 
>Como ven amigos actualmente Poly como solo tiene 2 mesecitos es la más consentida en la actualidad de la familia, mis sobrinitos vienen queriendo cargarla y jugar con ella a cada rato, mi hermano le ha comprado como 5 collares, pero aun es pequeña y le quedan grande 🤣, hasta que antier le consiguió uno más pequeño rosa de lo más bello y cuchi 😍.
 
>Por otro lado, ya Minie la reconoce y no se esconde, a veces Poly amanece enérgica ladrándole, como si fuera muy grande y quiere rebelarse 😅, y Minie se la queda viendo como en modo "¿que tendrá este bicho hoy?" Jajaja a veces, de paso, quiere morderle la cola a Minie, pero esta le lanza unos zarpazos y mi hermano la regaña porque tiene miedo de que le arañe la cara.

By the way! regarding those paws, I told my brother to leave her so that Poly will have respect for Minie who is older and stop barking at her and wanting to bite her tail when he sees her neglected 🤣, but the reality is that I don't know if we should let them find their balance alone or intervene in the relationship? 🤔 we're not sure.
 
We never thought we would see these scenes, so much laughter watching them eat, at the beginning Poly wanted to eat Minie's food too because she thinks she's so big and challenges Minnie, and then Minnie threw a paw at her just to push her away and now they eat each less than 1 meter apart, but neither one messes with the other. 
 
Minie now spends more time inside the house. When Poly first arrived she didn't want to come in, not even to eat. Now she has gotten more and more used to it and even went back to sleeping in my mom's closet. 🤗
 
As you can see so far everything is going smoothly friends 👏👏👏 we hope soon to see them together playing like when we had Beethoven 🥰, he did play with a neighbor's kitty friend who visited him or like Rocco, my sister's puppy who has his best friend also a kitty who visits him every afternoon to play 🤭. Anyway, soon, I will stop by again to tell you how we are doing with living together.

>¡Por cierto! con respecto a esos zarpazos, le dije a mi hermano que la dejara para que Poly le tenga respeto a Minie que es mayor y deje de ladrarle y querer morderle la cola cuando la ve descuidada 🤣, pero la realidad es que no sé si ¿debemos dejar que ellos encuentren su equilibrio solos o intervenir en la relación? 🤔 no estamos seguros.
 
>Nunca pensamos que veríamos estas escenas, de mucha risa verlas comer, al inicio Poly se quería comer también la comida de Minie porque ella se cree muy grande y reta a Minnie, y entonces esta le lanzó un zarpazo solo para alejarla y ahora comen cada una a menos de 1 metro de distancia, pero ninguna se mete con la otra. 
 
>Ya Minie ahora pasa más tiempo dentro de la casa. Cuando llegó Poly al inicio no quería entrar, ni siquiera a comer. Ahora ya se ha acostumbrado cada vez más y hasta volvió a dormir en el closet de mi mamá. 🤗
 
>Como ven hasta ahora todo marcha viento en popa amigos 👏👏👏 esperamos pronto verlas juntas jugando como cuando teníamos a Beethoven 🥰, él sí jugaba con un amiguito gatito de la vecina que lo visitaba o como Rocco, el perrito de mi hermana que tiene a su mejor amiga también gatita que lo visita todas las tardes para jugar 🤭. De todas formas, pronto, volveré a pasar para contarles cómo vamos con la convivencia.
