Borough Market is one of my favourite markets in London. It's very popular with tourists and locals alike. When I used to live in London I used to come over every now and then because they do some really awesome food, albeit a bit pricey.   A few of my favourite stalls include one that does a mean roast pork bun by a restaurant called Roast, which was sadly still closed. The other one is a yummy chorizo bun, that wasn't available either as they said they're not allowed to do an open fire barbeque under Covid. They were only serving it in their restaurant but I didn't fancy a proper sit down meal at lunch. So I went to my third option, a confit duck bun. Yum.    Even though I'm not a big fan of crowds, I love the vibe at Borough Market. My office used to be across the road, and sometimes I'd pop over to grab some lunch when I need to feel alive from work. It was always very busy, packed with people. It was quite sad when I came today, it was so quiet. Most of the market stalls were open but there weren't many customers. I remember previously, all the stalls would be crowded with onlookers if not customers, now most were lucky to have a few people looking at their produce.     <center></center>  One stall that I always will visit at Borough Market is this one. I love oysters.  I lived at Colchester for a few years when I was at university, that's where they produce this oyster. I always stop by for some oyster, both for sentimental reasons and not to mention they are really creamy and yummilicious. The prices have gone up a bit since I was last here. The medium ones are £1.50 per oyster, I recall they used to be a bit cheaper. Nevertheless, it's still good value as they really are very good, and it's not like I eat them every day for breakfast. One needs to indulge yourself every now and then. I ordered 8 and they were £1.25 each.    I have my oysters straight, no vinegar, no Tabasco, no lemon, no onion. In my opinion, that's the best way to have oysters, followed by a few sips of the fresh oyster juice inside the shell. It was absolutely divine and they were gone within 3 minutes! Just so you know, I didn't have all eight myself 😄    I'm so glad to be back at Borough market again, but is was really a sad sight to see it lose its mojo. If and that's a big IF, you can find it fresh it can be nice, lots of tuna steaks and snapper available, biggest issue is storage here, often places have inadequate or no refrigeration so you need to know your stuff and be picky. In more cosmopolitan areas of the city things are much more reliable/safe. I'll be honest coming from Cornwall the thought of a Pastie is much more appealing than fish. Although those sausage rolls you keep dangling under my nose would go down a treat right now, I'm a bit of a pastry lover.

Looks like my kind of market. I guess I'd be a regular there, taking photos and buying things (depending on my budget of course) but I'm not sure about the food. I don't like spicy or hot food, so i would have to look carefully what to buy. Anyway, it looks like a nice place to visit one day.

The artisan produce are very good, and they used to have lots of different stalls with street food from all around the world. Makes me so sad that there were so few stalls open now 😞

I guess it's true all over the world with the pandemic. In our city, quarantine restrictions have been lifted yet department stores that usually have overflowing traffic of shoppers still have hardly any patrons. That's why I think on-line sales have really boomed since the lockdown as people feel safer to just order via on-line and have the goods delivered to their place. I would love to visit this place in the future. It looks like a really cool destination. The food look great too. Keep safe and healthy and have a great weekend.

To true regarding things going quiet up in town. I've been up to visit family in Blackheath since the easing of lock down and it's.... Strange I guess? There's a noticeable absence of a number of variables that when combined make it difficult to put ones finger on a specific sensation outside of.. well just strange. Hell yeah on the oysters btw. One of my favourites as well. If you're into your culinary pursuits you oughta try the meat from The Ginger Pig. One of the top butchers in London.

Oh to walk into Neals Yard and marvel at the cheeses. I remember from years ago the brewery with all the European beers and the raclette place. Shame the customers are staying away but I guess that's what tourist places are going to struggle with for the moment. And I guess that's better than more cases and more lockdowns
