Death is always a song to the unknown, something feared, close or simply voice that is around us. For the poet it is also a word where the beautiful abounds. 

*Death figures*, from Geovannys Manso (Raúl Doblado Award and published by Ediciones Ávila, 2006) leaves us the taste of what has been lived, what is impossible by distant or lost recovering. Nostalgia abounds, travels from grief to inquiry in the search for truth. The verse suggests strokes that swallow it to open in a dialogue with memory. 

Loneliness or longing, the poet unfolds in a lyrical subject to name cities, changing faces that are lived on water:

Another city will not be your face on water, *because another city
I know your secrets*

It is the word image of authenticity, the verse flows in open confession without going to mere intellectual elaborations. Recreated in a speech that allows you to travel from the white verse, poetic prose to the sonnet. 

Divided into three sections manages to reveal among its pages an intimate exile that leads to the image of the image of that which has always to return to its footprint:

*I stay. The island does not deserve to escape and another sky discovers me, oblivious to its ostracism, oblivious to its century to come.*

To take the reader to a December -covered December:

*To common history,
To poverty ritual
I have to return.*

The city is symbols, the rain

*The ignotal warrior proscribes you
In the tenacious battle.*

The poet is discovered outsider, moss, executioner, a machinist, dust that on the pendulum of destiny, must be paying for great debts, but also, more than anything, being that inhabits the routine of the streets.

*We certainly look at each other. The train advanced and I was the machinist. What can I tell him that he does not know, that he does not anticipate pain and helplessness*

Vision of the bitter and the divine, the poems travels unbalanced states of the soul after the infinite palp of the past. Close, death is confidant, life or destiny, pretext to which it alludes serene and expectant with the unfortunate intention of the ultimate hug. 

*Predestinated death of my grandfather and other beings that hug me today, hidden and bleak.*

Redemption is possible, when reaching "1994. Silent chronicle" we will feel the creak of pages, and silence.* Death figures* is the poems where Geovannys Manso tries to encrypt spaces of an inner world that is not alien to it, but "it happens that a poem only reaches the perfection of his being when another re-crees. It is not only absurd, but useless, writing for oneself," Eliseo Diego told us in one of his trials. Here is that the author ceases to own these pages to leave the word every way in the hands of who reads it.

La muerte es siempre un canto a lo desconocido, algo temido, cercano o simplemente voz que nos ronda. Para el poeta suele ser también palabra donde abunda lo bello.

*Cifras de la muerte*, de Geovannys Manso (Premio Raúl Doblado y publicado por Ediciones Ávila, 2006) nos deja el sabor de lo vivido, aquello que es imposible por lejano o perdido recuperar. La nostalgia abunda, transita desde la pesadumbre hasta la indagación en la búsqueda de la verdad. El verso deja entrever trazos que lo ciñen para abrirse en un diálogo con la memoria.

Soledad o añoranza, el poeta se desdobla en sujeto lírico para nombrar ciudades, rostros cambiantes que se vivifican sobre el agua:

*otra ciudad no será tu rostro sobre el agua, porque otra ciudad
desconoce tus secretos*

Es la palabra imagen de autenticidad, el verso fluye en abierta confesión sin acudir a meras elaboraciones intelectuales. Recreado en un discurso que le permite viajar desde el verso blanco, la prosa poética hasta el soneto. 

Dividido en tres secciones alcanza a develar entre sus páginas un íntimo exilio que lleva a figurar sobre el dolor la imagen de ese que siempre ha de volver sobre su huella:

*Yo permanezco. La Isla no merece que escape y otro cielo me descubra, ajeno a su ostracismo, ajeno a su siglo por venir.*

Para llevar al lector hacia un diciembre cubierto de remembranzas: 

*A la historia común,
al ritual de la pobreza
he de regresar.* 

Son símbolos la ciudad, la lluvia

*el guerrero ignoto te proscribe
en la tenaz batalla.*

El poeta se descubre forastero, musgo, verdugo, maquinista, polvo que sobre el péndulo del destino, ha de ser pagador de grandes deudas, pero también, más que todo, ser que habita la rutina de las calles.

Para @elequilibrista74, la poesía resulta necesidad, expresión tras la que logra deshacer el tedio de los días para confluir en un espacio donde puede resarcir viejas deudas, volver el tiempo atrás, nombrar el dolor y revelar todo un mundo interior que se trasparenta en cada uno de los versos de este libro.

*Por un segundo nos miramos ciertamente. El tren avanzaba y yo era el maquinista ¿Qué puedo decirle que no sepa, que no anticipe el dolor y el desamparo?*

Visión de lo amargo y lo divino, el poemario recorre desemejantes estados del alma tras el palpar infinito del pasado. Cercana, la muerte es confidente, vida o destino, pretexto al que alude sereno y expectante con la intención inconfesable del abrazo último.

*Muerte predestinada de mi abuelo y de otros seres que hoy me abrazan, ocultos y sombríos.*

La redención es posible, al llegar a "1994. Crónica silente" sentiremos el crujir de páginas, y el silencio. *Cifras de la muerte*  es el poemario donde Geovannys Manso intenta cifrar espacios de un mundo interior que no le es ajeno, pero “sucede que un poema solo alcanza la perfección de su ser cuando otro lo re-crea. Es no sólo absurdo, sino inútil, escribir para uno mismo”, nos decía Eliseo Diego en uno de sus Ensayos. He aquí entonces que el autor deja de ser dueño de estas páginas para dejar a la palabra todo camino en las manos de quien lo lee.
