Hello Hivers! Just wanna share with you one of the highlights for the month of June "the school based feeding program" organized by Deped with the aim to develop health and reduced hunger and malnutrition among the learners.
Every month of June we celebrates Nutrition Month,one highlighted activity for this month is the school feeding program.Where lots of learners were given the opportunity to eat a free lunch.To fight malnutrition and promote health development this kind of activity in school is an advantage to the learners as this reduced hunger to some poor learners who have less in life and cannot eat the right and nutritious food.

A lot of preparations were being done to ensure that a nutritious food will be served to the students.
The school organized a feeding every twice in a year, the baseline usually starts in the month of July and the endline starts usually when the school year is  almost over.
The ingredients were brought earlier to the market,some of my co teachers helped in slicing the spices like onions,garlic and vegetables. Preparing also the plates,spoon and fork and glass by wiping them with tissue paper.

My Co Teachers were helping one another to finish cooking on time the menu of the day.The chicken afritada was being cooked first and then the monggo. Rice is cooked in the rice cooker.We started filling in the plates with food and get ready it on the table.

Attendance were being checked, students involved during the feeding were the ones whose the BMI results are wasted and underweight.

Our menu for today we're chicken afritada,monggo paired with banana and apple juice and a cup of rice.These foods are great sources of protein and carbohydrates, vitamin C and minerals.The protein in chicken helps build strong  muscles of the learners.The carbohydrates in rice will make them active and energized throughout the day.Making them active and energetic in the class.The banana which is packed with potassium for stronger bones,both arms and legs.

Learners find joy when eating the food.They were being encouraged to  eat everything especially the vegetables found in the food.
Atleast 50 learners were invited during the school feeding.Its visible in their faces the happiness they feel while eating the food.Students were happy participating the school feeding.Its clearly seen in their eyes that they are satisfied with the food being served.

Foods were cooked on time and is ready to serve with the our learners.The food served to the learners were deliciously prepared by the teachers.We make sure that it is packed with nutrients and vitamins and minerals.These food will surely nourished their body achieving good health and fight malnutrition.
It's a privileged to be part of the team,serving learners and promoting health development and enhanced well being of the students.

As a teacher for over 12 years,I always agree that each learners should have the right access to quality. It's an honor serving the students who will become a future citizen of the Philippines.So let's take good care of our learners by giving them proper nourishment in their mind and body.
