Hello Dear Hivers!
Hope you are doing well today. Id like to share to you one of activity I've done in school, that is to teach the students learning the basics in ICT.

With the advancement of the technology, one of the curriculum offered Department of Education is  TLE(Technology and Livelihood Education )in which under the umbrella of TLE is ICT(Information and Communication Technology. This subject aims to teach the students navigate the features of MS(Microsoft Word).

Thanks God the weather is fine today, so I instructed the students to go to the ICT lab for their performance task.
Students are very excited to perform  cause this the first time to them to have a hands-on training regarding the word processing software.

Students were being grouped into five, I let them picked their own laptop and give them the handouts. I let them read the instructions on what to do with the activity for today. A short discussion regarding the Microsoft Word is being discussed to them. I also included in my discussion the parts of MS word and how this will help them in creating, editing and format text based documents, and not only that they can also print their document after formatting it.

So in the middle of the discussion students are very curious asking questions as to how to navigate the different features of the Microsoft Word. One questions of the student that was being raised is "how to format the text? how to change the document color, size and style?'' I answered his question by demonstrating to them on how to edit the document. I show to them the steps in saving a file and editing a file.

In a slow paced I discussed to them one by one the steps in saving a file first. Here are the following steps
1. Open the Word Processing Software --the common software being is the MS Word. Double Click it. And Start with a blank document.
2. Start creating a file according to my instructions (like changing font color- blue, changing font style  -Time New Roman, and changing  the font size which is 32, aligned it center and start entering the text "The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog" this is a famous phrase for a beginner student who will practice typing. Because this phrase contains all the characters in the alphabet.
3. After entering the text in the workspace , position the cursor in the right to maintain the alignment of the paragraph.
4. And you're done. Let the teacher check your output

So it's there time to show their skills right after the discussion I let them face on their laptop and work with the activity I'm giving to them. It's normal that some of them find it difficult to transfer the learning through making the activity. Some of them are enjoying navigating and trying to familiarize the basic features of the MS Word. But there are groups who managed to edit their text document.

So the time limit given to the students are already expired. I checked their outputs one by one, ask questions to some of the learners. Good, that they understand now the use of MS Word and how to navigate it. 
Teaching is a commitment and it is very rewarding. Seeing your students learning is the best feeling after all.
