Do upvotes make the post reward smaller ?

# I noticed that sometimes, when I upvote a post, the reward gets smaller. I've seen this happen on my posts too, I have, lets say, 40 upvotes and 45 $, then I check back and I have 50 upvotes, but only 40 $, what is happening ?

**Is it just a coincidence and do upvotes have nothing to do with it ?**

**Is it a whale conspiration to make us wear pink hats ?**

**Do upvotes actually mean downvotes ?**

what your actually noticing is the change in the price of steem i believe. 
https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_steem
You can see the big spike in pricea while ago and now the price has settled back down. resulting in the posts having a smaller value.

The 7 day price feed average for Steem is changing.  Also, you have people voting on the budget.  So your probably seeing that budget get re-allocated.

Damn son, my post decreased by over 30 percent in the last moments of payout, that's pure evil :( Fucking promoting like crazy all day and then it just dies down by itself. Well nevermind, still got 30 $.

lorddominik I understand  at the last second when payout happens the payout is reduced to pay the curators.
