**Manipulation of language: Personification and layering of similes.** The beauty of language is it's power to manipulate. This is one of the truths I live my life by. 'Manipulation' is usually a dirty word, connoting ill intent. However, I like think we can craft responses in our audience with our language. Here is a piece of writing used to craft a description of an offie space. Yellow = noun Blue = personification Green = simile 1 and simile 2. I love how by using the similes, a sinister and cold mood is created, given the associations of the comparisons. What do you think?
