Hello everyone and welcome once again to my art blog! I’m Lorentm, a passionate digital artist who loves bringing characters to life through anime-inspired fan art. Today, I’m incredibly excited to share with you a new illustration I’ve created, based on a character from the Holozing community. To all my fellow Holozing fans and to the amazing team at @holozing — hello and thank you for always making such an inspiring universe to draw from!

For this piece, I chose to portray Woolitz, one of the most electrifying creatures I’ve come across in the community. Woolitz is not your typical sheep — this formidable being channels the raw energy of a thunderstorm. With its voluminous, cloud-like wool that seems to surge with static charge and those sharp, majestic horns that could pierce through lightning itself, Woolitz exudes both power and mystery. Creating this fan art was a thrilling experience. I was genuinely inspired by the creature’s design and the way it naturally lends itself to an anime style. I could almost imagine Woolitz bursting through the clouds like a divine beast from a mythological battle.

> Para esta ocasión, decidí representar a Woolitz, una de las criaturas más electrizantes que he conocido dentro de la comunidad. Woolitz no es una oveja cualquiera — este imponente ser canaliza la energía pura de una tormenta. Con su lana voluminosa como una nube cargada de electricidad estática y esos afilados cuernos majestuosos que podrían atravesar rayos, Woolitz irradia poder y misterio. Crear este fan art fue una experiencia emocionante. Me sentí genuinamente inspirada por el diseño del personaje y lo bien que se adapta a un estilo anime. Casi podía imaginarme a Woolitz surcando los cielos como una bestia divina en medio de una batalla mitológica.

Woolitz’s body is covered in a dense, swirling fleece that mimics the shapes and shadows of thunderclouds. I used different shades of purples, lavenders, and hints of light yellow to emphasize its wool’s dynamic volume and texture. Its muscular legs, dark and sturdy, contrast the softness of its coat, giving it the appearance of a grounded yet swift creature.

The most striking features are the large, turquoise horns that curl powerfully at the sides and the golden lightning-shaped horns that emerge directly from the top of its head — as if Woolitz were channeling electricity straight from the skies. These elements give the creature a majestic, divine energy. Woolitz’s eyes are sharp, determined, and glowing with an inner spark — a true visual cue of its electric affinity. Every element in its design speaks of a balance between ferocity and fluffiness, danger and charm.

> El cuerpo de Woolitz está cubierto por un denso y ondulante vellón que imita las formas y sombras de las nubes de tormenta. Utilicé diferentes tonos de púrpura, lavanda y toques de amarillo claro para resaltar el volumen y la textura dinámica de su lana. Sus patas musculosas, oscuras y firmes contrastan con la suavidad de su pelaje, dándole el aspecto de una criatura poderosa pero ágil.

> Lo más llamativo son los grandes cuernos turquesa que se curvan con fuerza a los lados y los cuernos dorados en forma de rayo que emergen directamente de su cabeza — como si Woolitz canalizara la electricidad desde el cielo. Estos elementos le otorgan una energía majestuosa y casi divina. Los ojos de Woolitz son penetrantes, decididos y brillan con una chispa interior — una clara muestra visual de su afinidad eléctrica. Cada detalle de su diseño representa un equilibrio entre ferocidad y ternura, entre peligro y encanto.

## Process / Proceso

The creation of this piece began with a loose and expressive sketch. I tried to capture Woolitz’s motion mid-leap, as if it were descending from the storm clouds with divine intent. The flow of the wool and the angle of the legs were key to establishing a sense of movement. I allowed the sketch to guide me naturally, refining the posture and expression with each stroke.

Once I was happy with the pose, I moved on to the lineart. Here, I focused on clean, bold outlines that would complement the dynamic anime look I envisioned. The curls of the wool required special attention to avoid visual clutter, so I varied the line thickness to create a sense of depth and softness where needed.

For the coloring stage, I had a blast experimenting with gradient tones and soft transitions, especially in the wool. I wanted it to look fluffy but also electrically charged — a mix of gentle and dangerous. The blues and purples played beautifully against each other, while the crown and horns got saturated gold and turquoise to stand out.

Adding shadows helped to ground Woolitz and give it weight. I applied a cold light source to simulate the flash of lightning, which allowed me to dramatize the contrasts in its body and wool. The inner shadows between wool clusters made the fluff feel dense and rich.

Then came the highlights — this was where the magic happened. I used bright, electric tones to give the impression of energy crackling through Woolitz. The edges of the wool and the eyes especially benefited from this, adding spark and life.

Finally, I worked on the background. I wanted it to reflect a powerful thunderstorm, with rain falling in dramatic slants and bolts of lightning tearing through the sky. The intense blue hues and stormy sky created the perfect setting for Woolitz’s dramatic entrance.

> La creación de esta obra comenzó con un boceto suelto y expresivo. Traté de capturar a Woolitz en pleno salto, como si descendiera desde las nubes de tormenta con intención divina. El flujo de la lana y el ángulo de las patas fueron claves para establecer una sensación de movimiento. Dejé que el boceto me guiara de forma natural, refinando la postura y la expresión con cada trazo.

> Una vez que estuve satisfecha con la pose, pasé al delineado. Aquí me concentré en trazos limpios y marcados que complementaran la estética dinámica del anime que tenía en mente. Los rizos de la lana requerían especial atención para evitar el desorden visual, así que varié el grosor de las líneas para crear profundidad y suavidad donde era necesario.

> En la etapa del coloreado, me divertí mucho experimentando con tonos degradados y transiciones suaves, especialmente en la lana. Quería que se viera esponjosa pero también cargada de electricidad — una mezcla de dulzura y peligro. Los tonos azules y púrpuras se mezclaron muy bien, mientras que la corona y los cuernos los trabajé con dorados y turquesas saturados para que destacaran.

> Agregar sombras ayudó a darle peso y presencia a Woolitz. Apliqué una fuente de luz fría para simular el destello de un rayo, lo que me permitió dramatizar los contrastes en su cuerpo y su lana. Las sombras internas entre los grupos de lana hicieron que el pelaje se sintiera denso y voluminoso.

> Luego añadí los brillos — y aquí fue donde ocurrió la magia. Utilicé tonos eléctricos brillantes para dar la impresión de energía chispeante a través de Woolitz. Los bordes del pelaje y los ojos se beneficiaron especialmente de esto, añadiendo chispa y vida a la ilustración.

> Finalmente trabajé en el fondo. Quería que reflejara una poderosa tormenta eléctrica, con lluvia cayendo en líneas diagonales dramáticas y relámpagos atravesando el cielo. Los intensos tonos azules y el cielo tormentoso crearon el escenario perfecto para una entrada épica de Woolitz.

Working on this anime-style Woolitz was a stormy joyride. I loved imagining how this powerful character would look in motion, surrounded by lightning and energy. Every detail, from the fluff of its wool to the glow in its eyes, was a delight to illustrate. I feel proud of how the piece turned out — it’s dynamic, bold, and full of spark!
