# Riparto da Firenze (parte 21)

... reclami, gli odori, il dialogo, la colazione e dopo tutte le preparazioni, la preghiera.
Da quasi un anno, cerco di trovare una certa regolarità. La mattina ci mettiamo davanti al muro e iniziamo a recitare. Recitando insieme troviamo l’armonia giusta per iniziare la giornata.
“Ti ricordi quando pochi giorni prima di venire a Ginevra recitammo 28 ore? Sette ore tutti i giorni. Andavamo al Kaikan11 e ci passavamo la giornata”.
I suoi occhi si fanno più grandi, un po’ per la preghiera un po’ per i ricordi. “Lo facesti come regalo prima di partire. Ti mettesti in pace la coscienza, ” mi dice.
“Ci mettemmo in pace la coscienza. Mi chiedo a cosa sia servito.
Voglio dire non hai avuto mica dei miglioramenti poi?”.
“Io forse no, sicuramente tu. Ti ricordi di quanto pesava sulla tua schiena la decisione di partire?” mi precisa.
“Sì, tanto sono abituato ad averti sulla schiena,” annuisco, cercando una parziale uscita furtiva.
“Non ti ricordi più delle due settimane di diarrea che avesti prima di partire?” mi dice, riportandomi sulla verità delle cose.
“Una settimana e mezzo” le preciso.
Poi, prendendo la palla la balzo, taglio corto e aggiungo:
“Eh! In effetti, la pratica funzionò. Lo vedi la pratica funziona”.
Sorridendo si gira di nuovo verso il muro e continua a recitare con più forza e entusiasmo di prima.
In quel periodo dell’anno, la mattina, il sole entra dalla finestra del salone, traversa tutta la stanza, il largo corridoio e riesce ad arrivare fino al bagno. Il bagno è privo di finestre. Ogni mattina qualche raggio di sole filtra riuscendo a illuminare il lavabo. Cosi un pomeriggio tornando a casa vediamo, una piantina con due foglioline uscire dal pertugio del troppopieno del lavabo.
Non abbiamo visto mai una piantina nascere nel lavabo di un bagno senza finestre, e ci sorprende ancor di più che ciò avvenga quando ...

For almost a year I have been trying to find some regularity. In the morning we stand in front of the wall and begin to recite. By reciting together we find the right harmony to start the day.
"Do you remember when we recited for 28 hours a few days before we came to Geneva? Seven hours every day. We went to Kaikan11 and spent the day there".
His eyes widen, partly from the prayer, partly from the memories. "You did it as a gift before you left. You put your conscience at peace," he tells me.
"We put our consciences at peace. I wonder what it was for.
I mean, didn't you feel better afterwards?"
"Maybe not me, but definitely you. Do you remember how heavy the decision to leave was on your back?" he points out.
"Yeah, I'm used to having you on my back anyway," I nod, looking for a partially hidden exit.
"You don't remember the two weeks of diarrhoea you had before you left?" she tells me, bringing me back to the truth of things.
"A week and a half," I point out.
Then I take the ball, cut it short and add:
"Eh! In fact, the practice has worked. You see, practice works.
Smiling, she turns back to the wall and resumes her recitation with more vigour and enthusiasm than before.
At this time of year, in the morning, the sun comes in through the living room window, crosses the whole room, the wide corridor and manages to reach the bathroom. The bathroom has no windows. Every morning, a few rays of sunlight get through and manage to illuminate the washbasin. One afternoon, on our way home, we saw a small plant with two leaves coming out of the overflow hole of the sink.
We had never seen a seedling grow in the sink of a windowless bathroom before, and we were all the more surprised that it happened when ...
