이병헌 하정우 마동석 전혜진 배수지의 캐스팅으로 화제를 모은 영화 ‘백두산’이 12월 개봉을 확정지었다.

‘백두산’은 남과 북 모두를 집어삼킬 초유의 재난인 백두산의 마지막 폭발을 막아야 하는 사람들의 이야기를 그린다. 백두산 화산 폭발이라는 과감한 상상력을 바탕으로 이병헌 하정우 마동석 전혜진 배수지까지 신선한 조합이 더해져 기대를 모은다.

6일 공개된 론칭 포스터에서 영화의 분위기를 엿볼 수 있다. 사상 초유의 재난이 발생한 서울의 전경이 시선을 사로잡는다. 화염에 휩싸인 건물, 연기로 자욱한 하늘, 거세게 출렁이는 한강까지 백두산 폭발 직후 서울의 모습을 생생히 담아내 실제 재난 현장과 같은 긴장감을 자아낸다.

‘백두산’은 ‘신과함께-죄와 벌’ ‘신과함께-인과 연’으로 2600만여명의 관객을 동원한 덱스터스튜디오가 제작을 맡았다. 한층 현실적이고 긴박한 볼거리를 선사할 것으로 기대된다.

백두산 화산 폭발을 막기 위한 결정적 정보를 손에 쥔 북한 무력부 소속 일급 자원 리준평 역 이병헌, 모두의 운명이 걸린 비밀 작전에 투입된 EOD 대원 조인창 역 하정우, 백두산 화산 폭발 전문가 지질학 교수 강봉래 역 마동석, 마지막 폭발을 막기 위한 작전을 제안하는 전유경 역 전혜진 그리고 반드시 살아남아야 하는 최지영 역 배수지까지, 배우들의 시너지도 주목된다.

‘백두산’의 제작사 측은 “한국영화를 대표하는 배우들의 만남, 백두산 화산 폭발이라는 신선한 소재와 참신한 상상력으로 새로운 재미와 볼거리를 선사할 것”이라고 기대를 당부했다.
