মজার খাবার ঢাকা

মাঝে মাঝে কিছু জিনিসের নাম দেখলে মনে হয় সব কিছুর উৎপত্তি কী ফ্রান্সে হয়েছিল? খাবার জিনিস থেকে শুরু করে ফ্যাশন পর্যন্ত কিছু না কিছু জিনিস আছে যার নামের আগে ফ্রেঞ্চ তকমাটি যুক্ত। কিন্তু প্রিয়.কমের পাঠকদের জন্য এই লেখায় আজ এমন কিছু জিনিসের কথা তুলে ধরব যেসব ফ্রেঞ্চ নামধারী হলেও আদতে ফ্রান্সের সঙ্গে কোনো সম্পর্কই নেই।

ফ্রেঞ্চ কিস

প্রথমেই বেশ বড় একটি শক দিয়ে শুরু করা যাক। ফ্রেঞ্চ কিস হচ্ছে চুমুর একটা ধরণ। আর এই ধরনের কথা প্রথম জানতে পারা যায় কামসূত্রে। আর কামসূত্র যে সময়ের লেখা সেই সময় দেশ হিসেবে ফ্রান্সের অস্তিত্বই ছিল না। পরবর্তীতে আমেরিকানরা ফ্রান্সে প্রথম এ ধরনের চুমুর সঙ্গে পরিচিত হয় এবং এটাকে ফরাসিদের স্বতন্ত্র চুমুর স্টাইল হিসেবে ভেবে নেয়। সেই থেকে এটি ফ্রেঞ্চ কিস নামে পরিচিতি লাভ করে।

ফ্রেঞ্চ টোস্ট

এটির উতপত্তিও হয়েছিল ফ্রান্সের অস্তিত্ব প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবার আগেই। আসলে ফ্রেঞ্চ টোস্ট হছে প্রাচীন রোমান সময়কার একটি রেসিপি। এটিকেও আমেরিকানরাই ফ্রেঞ্চ টোস্ট হিসেবে ডাকতে শুরু করে কারণ রেসিপিটিকে আধুনিক সময়ে প্রথম জনসমক্ষে নিয়ে আসেন নিউইয়র্কের এক সরাই মালিক যার নাম ছিল জোসেফ ফ্রেঞ্চ। 

ফ্রেঞ্চ হর্ন

এটি একটি বাদ্যযন্ত্র। এটিকে ফ্রেঞ্চ হিসেবে পরিচিতি দেবার পেছনে অবদান হলো ব্রিটিশদের। আজ থেকে প্রায় ৩০০ বছর আগে এই বাদ্যযন্ত্রটি জার্মানরা উদ্ভাবন করে। কিন্তু এটির নির্মাণশৈলী বেশ জটিল ছিল। এখন যেমন সস্তা জিনিসের কথা শুনলেই মনে হয় চীনে তৈরি, তখন মনে করা হতো সমস্ত জটিল জিনিস ফরাসিরাই তৈরি করে। তাই ব্রিটিশরা এই বাদ্যযন্ত্রটিকে ফ্রেঞ্চ হর্ন নামে ডাকতে শুরু করে এবং সে নামেই এটি দুনিয়াজোড়া পরিচিতি লাভ করে।

ফ্রেঞ্চ ম্যানিকিউর

আমেরিকান মডেল এজেন্সিগুলো তাদের দেশ থেকে ফ্রান্সের প্যারিসে মডেল পাঠানোর আগে সেই মডেলদের নখ এভাবে ডিজাইন করে দিতো। সেই থেকে এটি ফ্রেঞ্চ ম্যানিকিউর নামে পরিচিত।

ফ্রেঞ্চ ব্রেইড

বেনী করার এই পদ্ধতিটি বহু প্রাচীন। চীনের সাং ডাইন্যাস্টি, প্রাচীন আফ্রিকা, এমনকি প্রাচীন গ্রীক সংস্কৃতিতেও এই বেনীর নিদর্শন পাওয়া যায়। কিন্তু এখানেও আমেরিকানদের হস্তক্ষেপ। আমেরিকান ফ্যাশন ম্যাগাজিনের মাধ্যমে এটি ফ্রেঞ্চ ব্রেইড নামে পরিচিতি লাভ করে।

ফ্রেঞ্চ ফ্রাইস

চকলেট, ওয়াফলস এসব মজাদার খাবারের মতো ফ্রেঞ্চ ফ্রাইয়ের উৎপত্তিও বেলজিয়ামে। প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সময় আমেরিকানরা বেলজিয়াম এ গিয়ে এ খাবারের সঙ্গে পরিচিত হয়। আর বেলজিয়ানরা কথা বলে ফরাসি ভাষায়। সেই থেকে বেলজিয়ামের খাবার হওয়া সত্বেও এর পরিচিতি হয় ফ্রেঞ্চ ফ্রাইস নামে। ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/wh33dj52kf.jpg)
