First time making yogurt at home

Una de mis cosas favoritas definitiva a mí me encanta comer y cuando tengo en casa, no me dura casi nada porque me lo como demasiado rápido me lo termino demasiado rápido y ya había escuchado varias veces que hacer el yogur era un proceso bastante sencillo que lo puedes realizar literalmente cualquier persona en casa con muy poquitos ingredientes, solo se necesita yogur y leche básicamente. Así que después de pensarlo demasiado, y de ver por primera vez a alguien haciendo yogur, específicamente a la abuela de mi novio, me di cuenta que era un proceso súper sencillo y me atreví a hacerlo por primera vez, así que quiero contarles cómo lo hice, qué tal me fue y mis resultados final.

So, I want to tell you how I did it, how it went, and my final results.

Cómo le dije anteriormente hacer el yogur en un proceso súper sencillo comenzamos colocando en una olla el litro de leche, o por lo menos casi en toda su totalidad solo dejé por fuera una taza para utilizarla luego esta es leche se tiene que poner a calentar como unos 10 minutos más o menos no se tiene que hervir. Luego en un recipiente eche la otra tasa de leche, y esta la utilicé para diluir el yogur natural y agregué cuatro cucharadas de leche en polvo.

This milk should be heated for about 10 minutes, but it should not boil. Después estuve agregando esta mezcla a la leche que había calentado anteriormente. Esto lo pasé a un refractario de vidrio, para mayor comodidad, y luego lo tapé muy bien con un paño, y lo coloqué en el horno. Ya que el yogur debe  fermentarse en un lugar oscuro y cálido. Y estuvo en el horno unas 12 horas, es importante destacar que el horno debe estar pagado obviamente. Al otro día, cuando lo fui a ver, ya había compactado y se veía bastante bien.

The yogurt must be left to set in a dark, warm place. It was in the oven for about 12 hours. It is important to note that the oven must be turned off, of course. The next day, when I went to check on it, it had already set and looked pretty good.

En lo que el yogur estaba en la nevera, me puse a hacer la mermelada de fresa, ya que este yogur va a ser fresa. Para ello, simplemente esto, colocando las fresas con agua y un poco de bicarbonato de sodio para desinfectarlas muy bien, luego estuve cortándolas en cuadritos bastante pequeños y una vez que termine este proceso estuve llevando todas las fresas en una olla con la tasa de azúcar. Esto de azúcar es muy al gusto, a mí me gusta la mermelada bastante dulce así que le coloqué esa cantidad que me pareció bastante acertada y esto debe dejarse cocinar y debe ponerse un poco espeso, en realidad cuando las fresas cambian de color esto está listo y cuando tiene la consistencia que nosotros queremos.

> While the yogurt was in the refrigerator, I started making strawberry jam, as this yogurt is going to be strawberry flavored. To do this, I simply placed the strawberries in water with a little baking soda to disinfect them thoroughly, then I cut them into fairly small squares and once I had finished this process, I put all the strawberries in a pot with the sugar. The amount of sugar is up to you. I like my jam quite sweet, so I added what I thought was the right amount. This should be left to cook until it thickens a little. In fact, when the strawberries change color, it's ready and has the consistency we want.

Luego de unas seis horas, casi ocho de yogur en la nevera y lo estuve llevando en otros recipientes más pequeños donde coloqué la mermelada y abajo y luego el yogur. Por lo menos para el yogur de fresa lo hice de esta manera y al otro yogur le agregué piña, mermelada de piña que tenía en la nevera y la mermelada la coloqué primero y luego agregué el yogur y luego volvió agregar otro poquito de mermelada de piña arriba es como si fuese un yogur con doble mermelada. Todo esto me dio como para unos 1.3 Litros de yogur aproximadamente, lo que se resume en dos recipientes grandes y cuatro pequeños.

At least for the strawberry yogurt, I did it this way, and for the other yogurt, I added pineapple, pineapple jam that I had in the fridge, and I put the jam in first, then added the yogurt, and then added another little bit of pineapple jam on top, so it's like yogurt with double jam. All this gave me about 1.3 liters of yogurt, which is two large containers and four small ones.

La verdad es que mi yogur estaba bastante bueno, siento que superó muchísimo mis expectativas y espero mejorarlo bastante, ya que siento que no me quedo tan denso y es algo que quiero mejorar. Por lo menos para la semana que viene, planeo hacer yogur nuevamente, así que voy a implementar, agregar más leche en polvo y cambiar el yogur natural por yoga o yogur griego, ya que este es bastante espeso y puede darle una mejor consistencia a mi yogur casero. Espero que les haya encantado conocer lo que fue el proceso de hacer este yogur. La verdad es bastante sencillo y recomiendo ampliamente que, si son tan amantes del yogur como yo, lo intenten en casa. Nos leemos pronto!

I thought making homemade yogurt was difficult but looking at this makes me think that I could also do it. The strawberry yogurt looks good. Now, you can have more supply at home and can eat anytime you want.

Amo el yogurt 😍, realizarlo es sencillo, sirve para desayunar y merendar. Si fuera por mi estuviera todo el tiempo comiendo yogurt jaja. Te quedó muy bien amiga ☺️
