How much is a sock  _really_ worth?

It's  not so difficult a question, if you think about.
(...it's a fucking weird one though, that's for sure).

_Why_  would you even think about it...is  the far more pertinent question....(and psychologically  relevant).

I've been thinking about socks quite a lot just lately, as it happens.
Funny things, are socks.

#### They have multiple uses.

Most obviously  is for foot application of course .They are very good tools for the job.
Comfort, protection and they also avoid the unpleasant whiffy smell collecting in your footwear.

They can also act as a fairly good, if somewhat rudimentary, water filters. 
(Best used fresh rather than directly from the foot, in my opinion).

With some well placed charcoal, and some fine sand, it could well and truly stop you from drinking 'bad' water. 
####  It could be a life saver, could your trusty sock. 

They also serve as great toys – sock puppets are called that for a reason as  they make great puppets to entertain children (and me). 
I love my sock puppets, which is just as well around these parts.

But they have other uses to, and ones not quite as pleasant or innocent....

... like as a cosh.

You slip a couple of pool balls into your favorite  foot hugger, and you have yourself a handy weapon! 

...and  as a  gag. 
Firstly  is the sex games side of it of course , where a trusty sock can  be a useful  tool to help spicen up a role play. 
(Always use a fresh pair, for fucks sake!). 
If it's not a Saturday night  role play, it's most probably  abduction and kidnapping. 
One makes  sexy, fun times, and  the other makes 20 years in prison. 
_It is  quite important to know the difference._ . 
(Basement dwellers can   get a little confused sometimes..)

...which leads me to the final use of a sock.

Gagging people for real. They are excellent tools for this, also. 
You ain't gonna say much with one of those stuck in your gob, now are you?

####  So back to my original question..Just how much is a sock worth....?

Depending on the intended usage, I would imagine the value drastically alters.
It's all just  matter of supply and mean, really.

For example, if you had no socks and wanted to walk some distance, then they would be worth a fair bit. If, on the other hand, you only wanted to walk a few yards, you wouldn't probably  pay the same amount for the same sock.

_Imagine having so much money_,  that no matter how far you had to walk _whatever the asking  price was_, was acceptable.
Take a banker, for example. One  who printed his own money out of thin air.  
If it's the sock he wanted, the amount of money would be of no issue. (not when it's made out of  thin air).

And these applies with all uses of the sock, not just walking. 
_It's never about the sock, its about the demand for the sock_.

For me personally, I don't use socks. (not even for sex games).  Therefor  the demand (for me) is very low.
If someone was to offer me some socks, I' m not sure I would even take them. 

Just thinking about it now,  and trying to work out fair price with my total lack of need for any footwear, poses difficulties.

When I _did_ wear socks all the time, I  always liked _good_  ones.  Ones that were up to the job. 
Ones that wouldn't 'break the  contract' of the job so to speak... 
They had to do as they promised!  Comfort and protection.

My socks were the $15 dollar sock type. Fresh on, every day.

A good pair of socks like that could last a couple of years, easily.

So I would have to say - for me - when valuing my sock utility, it would be $15 x 730 days. (cost of sock multiplied by the days I had use out of them).

### ...just how the fuck did I get onto thinking about sock utility?

I'll put a sock in it now! lolol.
