 #### Loyalty...'Tis a funny thing, isn't it? Strong as iron, fleeting as the wind.... Dependable like a sunrise, as fickle as the weather. Loyalty is a given -- until tested.... I've just heard some news about a 'family friend'. It's not very good news and is a testament to the inescapable passage of time. He won't be here with us much longer. We're not close, but he has been someone that's been in my life (in the background), from as young as I can remember. I'm not overly upset to be brutally honest, but it _has_ made me think about things... Any of my own family loyalties that I had, died along with my Dad. This puts me in a strange position. I may _soon_ be the _only_ person alive, that knows these stories that took place in the 80's and early 90's... A story of loyalty and disloyalty. I know what happened. I know many of the people involved. I know the stories that make up a fascinating slice of recent history, based in Manchester and the dying industrial north of England. Hard people with ambition. Hard people with very little regard for the law. This is something that I've been thinking about writing for, well, years. Gangland, wars, drugs, families...and loyalty. So now... maybe... it's time to write it all down...  _** this will be a work of 'fiction'_
