The chain of ecosystems that keeps on turning, by looking at a grasshopper
<center> **Hi all... How are you today? Of course in good condition** </center>

**The gray bird grasshopper, that's a well-known name in our area, it is an insect that belongs to the grasshopper class, although the color is different from grasshoppers in general but it is still in the same shape**

If traced, it turns out that this grasshopper has a strong body strength, because it is able to adapt in all different places, meaning that it can live and be able to adapt to a situation. This assumption is reinforced by its presence in every location, except in areas that have very cold temperatures, namely the continent of Antarctica. However, it is often found in some common locations, such as :

1. Locations with lots of greenery (productive abandoned land)
2. Sandy desert (which has few plants)
3. Sandy soil / seashore (has few plants)
4. Rice fields
5. Wild forest
6. Recently, it was found in a water barrier that has few plants, growing in a concrete hole as a barrier
7. and, some locations where life (plants)

In recent days, the population of grasshoppers here is increasing, they seem to control every land that is overgrown with wild weeds, sometimes in every fruit plant that is in the process of development, likes small plant stems, as a location for establishment, and as a hiding location.

Its presence here makes other invited guests immediately come at certain times, namely small birds that eat grasshoppers. The birds come and enjoy the results when entering the morning and sometimes midday, this activity makes me attract attention in a location that has habitat in an ecosystem development.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmRTwEpyJ5sEjEX6aTSYgsoKogUe2qm2Y2LNqM4HNpdEru/IMG_20211218_094029-01.jpeg

when the morning is sunny then, every little grasshopper, always does something that makes it difficult for small birds to catch it, by hiding where there are thick plant leaves. In fact, the time before the peak of plant development, marked by the blooming of flowers at 9 o'clock, is a good time to hunt, because every insect's vision is blocked by its light. This is done, of course, to avoid mission attacks. It is precisely at this time that insectivorous birds always carry out their mission.

The small grasshopper seen in this photo, seems to have different instincts from the group, because it doesn't move to sit on the grass. Perhaps the goal was to hide, for it was time for the little hunters to carry out their mission. While one by one his brothers were surprised by the speed and agility of the small birds that were about to pounce on him. Of course the results of the predators' efforts in hunting are satisfactory, because in this location the life of grasshoppers is filled with gray birds.

Seeing this condition, I personally went and approached their habitat so that the little birds would not continue to carry out their mission, because many victims had fallen from the grasshopper in an instant. When they came and approached him, they were seen with their respective styles that looked very trouma in the face of a sudden attack.

Whatever human effort, the nature of a certain nature or habitat cannot be stopped with certain efforts. The thing is that today is the time for this to happen, if the little birds do not come to my area, but they still carry out their actions at the next point which is still in the same location.

For another grasshopper hiding in the thick greenery then he will be safe for today. However, those who hide in the wild weeds are not guaranteed today they are safe, because they are very easily detected by a very sharp and precise bird's eye. Within a radius of 10 meters, grasshoppers are unable to detect the presence of predators, but predators are able to see them clearly. So herein lies the weakness so they are very easy to catch.

The power of this grasshopper, only relies on two ways in its life when in a certain area or location in a way, to be safe from predator attacks, among others :

1. Rely on dense foliage, which is difficult for predators to reach
2. Rely on speed and jump height when surprised by surprise attacks from predators.

However, this technique has a weakness, if saved by a bird mission, but can't escape attacks by dragonflies, or wasps. Because there are still many other groups that always rely on their bodies to be used as feed.

I myself often see, its tiny body looks classy at the mouth of the dragonfly or the mouth of the wasp that often splits it in this location. Uniquely, sometimes tiger beetles also often stalk them if they nest in sandy soil that has a few wild weeds or grass that grows by itself.

Sometimes it is also seen that other plant-dwelling birds often catch a dragonfly or wasp, while in the mouth of a dragonfly or wasp the body of a small grasshopper is tucked, meaning I am looking at a predator that is being preyed upon by the predator.

It is very unique to see in an ecosystem journey, a food chain that looks real in the life of insects and other animals. The wheel of this ecosystem continues to spin in every space and time, they continue to be connected in a single entity, either the oppressed or the beneficial. That is a unique life in our environment.
