## **Starting Out (Again) on Tibia!**

Hello, everyone!

I've decided to try a new adventure on Tibia, after almost a decade without playing the game!

I absolutely don't have enough time to sink on the game in order to become a competitive player that will be part of wars or the PvP scene. I just want to play it casually when I have the time, mainly because **I have some goals that I always wanted to achieve on the game**, but was never able to do (because I was too weak, too poor, or both!).

My main goals are:

1) Doing "**The Annihilator Quest**" and getting the "**Annihilation Bear**" as the reward;

2) Achieving **Level 500**;

3) Having some Rare Items that I've always dreamed about: **Bunnyslippers, Thunder Hammer, Eye of the Storm and Shield of Honour**. Mainly the Bunnyslippers, tho. I want those. They're cute! Useless, yes, but cute!

## **Choosing a World**

I've analyzed the types of Worlds (servers) that there are in Tibia, and I decided that I want to play on a World that has these settings:

- **Server located in Brazil**, as I'll have better connection and lower pings than playing in Europe or in the US. Tibia is a game that is heavily-dependant on quick actions by the player (healing, attacking, running away, etc.), and it's very difficult to play on servers far from your geographic location as you'll be handicapped against the rest of the players and way more suscetible to lag spikes (and **stupid deaths**!).

- **Optional PvP**. I don't want to get into wars or deal with PKs (Player-Killers). As I just want to play the game for fun, I also don't want my fun being ruined by people 10x my level killing me for fun.

> Back in the days, I mainly played on the world Dolera, a PvP-Enforced server. This means that a player that killed another one received not a single penalty; in fact, people earned experience by killing other players! As crazy as it sounds, things were very peaceful on the server, as no one wanted to start a war and screw everyone.

- **BattlEye "Green" Worlds**. Tibia was plagued with bots back in the days, and the situation was just recently solved when the developers hired a third-party software (**BattlEye**) to catch the botters. Being "**Green**" symbolizes that the world has been protected by BattlEye since its creation, and that no player got the advantage of using bots when the no-bots rules wasn't really enforced.

There's a few Worlds with those settings: **Collabra, Tembra, Venebra, Descubra, and Reinobra**. I have no particular preference between them, so let's go to the next step: finding a character!

## **Finding a Character**

> I know this part will make a lot of people angry with "Pay2Win" arguments!

In Tibia, your character develops by both increasing its Level, and its Skills (Shielding, Weapons, Magic, etc.).

You can only increase its Skills by attacking Monsters or by "Offline Training". Offline Training works like a "daily": you login on your character everyday and click on a Statue in order to make it train a skill while you're offline. **Either way, skills are directly related to time: you can't bypass or shortcut time.** If your skill is 10, you can't reach skill 100 by tomorrow. It's literally impossible. It's a process that you have to do while you play the game.

But there's a lot of players that have dozens of characters only for "Offline Train" them everyday. These characters were barely played: they just exist for being offline trained. Players do this because they can, afterward, **sell those characters on the Character Bazaar to another player that want to start a low-leveled character but want to bypass this boring part of the game**.

Well, that's me. **I just want to have fun on the game, not spend months training skills until I can actually hunt interesting monsters.**

The Character Bazaar, on Tibia Official Website, has a horrible layout. But you don't need to use it: there's a third-party website called [ExevoPan](https://www.exevopan.com/?location=2&battleye=true&pvp=0) that shows all the characters being sold in a very user-friendly layout. **All the cool kids use ExevoPan**.

After inserting all my desired World settings, I'm being able to find a few interesting characters with high skills (100+) and with very affordable prices, like 100 or 150 Tibia Coins. Just to put this into perspective, 250 Tibia Coins is worth around ~10 USD, so I'm paying around 10 USD for a character that's ready for me to have fun. I think it's well-worth.

**I'm currently watching some of those Character Auctions, and I'm doing some smart bids. Wish me luck!**
