THERE WAS A BRIDGE IN SEVILLA (D/EN/ESP) - An new entry for Bridge and Photography Lovers

Der Titel ist eigentlich falsch, denn die Brücke über den Guadalquivir in Sevilla (Spanien) steht noch. Sie wurde anlässlich der Expo 92 entworfen und gebaut. Und schon beim ersten Anschauen wusste ich aus welcher Feder sie stammt, denn ihre skelettartige Konstruktion hat mich stark an den Architekten Santiago Calatrava erinnert. Sie ist nun bereits die dritte Konstruktion und Bauwerk des spanisch-schweizerischen Architekten, welches ich auf unserer Reise bestaunen dürfte.

En realidad, el título es erróneo, porque el puente sobre el Guadalquivir en Sevilla (España) sigue en pie. Se diseñó y construyó para la Expo 92. Y en cuanto lo vi por primera vez, supe quién había sido su autor, porque su construcción en forma de esqueleto me recordó mucho al arquitecto Santiago Calatrava. Es ya la tercera construcción y edificio del arquitecto hispano-suizo que he podido contemplar en nuestro viaje.

Bei der Puente del Alamillo handelt es sich um eine Schrägseilbrücke bzw. Harfenbrücke. Und war damals die erste ihrer Art ohne Rückverankerung. Die Brücke ist 250m lang und bis 142m hoch. An einem schrägen Pylonen sind 26 Stahlseile befestigt, welche die Fahrbahn tragen. Sie stellt eine Verbesserung des lokalen Verkehrs dar, und verfügt über eine 4-spurige Strasse und in der Mitte eine Passage für Fussgänger und Fahrräder. Eigentlich war eine Doppelbrücke geplant, doch wurde in Folge einer sehr teuren Konstruktion und Geldmangel nur eine Brücke gebaut.

The Puente del Alamillo is a cable-stayed bridge or harp bridge. At the time, it was the first of its kind without a tie-back. The bridge is 250m long and up to 142m high. El Puente del Alamillo es un puente atirantado o puente arpa. En su momento, fue el primero de su clase sin respaldo. El puente tiene 250 m de longitud y hasta 142 m de altura. Hay 26 cables de acero sujetos a un pilón inclinado que sostienen la calzada. Es una mejora para el tráfico local y cuenta con una carretera de 4 carriles y un paso para peatones y bicicletas en medio. En un principio estaba previsto un puente doble, pero debido a lo costoso de su construcción y a la falta de dinero, sólo se construyó uno.
