I know Game of thrones is over.  You probably hate how season 8 was scripted. Strangely, after people disappointed with the series, I was compelled to examine the " why". So, I decided to spend every my lunch watching the series from season 1 to 8. Then... I found myself repeating it all-over again to understand the characters better.  Only after watching it for god-knows-I lost count, I slowly learned some valuable things from it.

The first thing I learned from the series is that it mimics our current society. The characters also taught us invaluable lessons that only you'd understand if you watch them closely and follow each season carefully. I do have favorites within the show, especially the disabled, Brandon Stark and the imp, Tyrion Lannister. But there are other characters whom I admire such as Jon Snow, Missandei and little finger !  

<h1> Here's to name a few of things I learned after I spent my time watching it : </h1>

- It encourages you to not giving up on life 

This particular lesson can be learned from the life of Tyrion lannister. He even said, " “Death is so final. Whereas life, ah, life is full of possibilities".Tyrion Lannister has people constantly mock him from being a dwarf. He certainly was no good in combat but he learned to read book and think, which helps him alive until the last battle. 

That being said, another lesson, 

- Thinking is invaluable skill

Sam Tarly, the fat guy from the nightwatch is an example of this lesson. Despite he's unable to be a good soldier/warrior, he's good at reading and thinking. Just like Tyrion lannister, he reads a lot.  He said " A mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone". That habit leads him to survive until the end of time. 


- Knowing various languages is helpful and a great skill to have

Missandei was once a slave and translator to good masters. She knows 19 languages and after freed by Danny, she's serving as her trusted advisor. She has impressive skill and I really want to be like her, being a polyglotic 

-  Some views on Honor 

From the series, honor- adherence to what is right or to a conventional standard of conduct seem to portrayed as disadvantage qualities to have. As in, characters who follow honor is often dead quickly, like Ned Stark. He's honorable man but the series portrays being honorable often leads you to get killed. Even Jon Snow who was trying to become honorable was betrayed by his " brothers". So, being dishonorable is good, I presume ?

-  Unconditional love of a Mother

We can learn this from Cersei lannister and Lady Stark. Both are mothers who love their children and willing to do anything for their children. Cersei-- however she takes thing into extreme. 

- Human Nature 

A lot of invaluable lesson we can learn about human nature especially from Ramsay Bolton. He's showing up how evil a human can be.  

- Knowledge is power

It resonates with the idea that thinking is invaluable. Knowledge is power. The eunuch has armies called the little birds. These little birds are peasants and mostly children who gathers information for him. Even little finger said " knowledge is power"although cersei said, power is power. Still knowledge is power because it helps little finger to orchestrate a massive dramatic events that is the driving force of the story.

There are many more lesson that we can learn from the series and the characters. Those are only a few that I managed to compile today. This is going to be updated every day with much more list of things to learn from Game of Thrones.
