# Spring Lives Here Too.......

There’s one eerie dilapidated house in my neighborhood. It has been abandoned for as long as I’ve lived on this earth. The house used to be my playground and kids in our neighborhood invented a ghost tale about it.  Some said there’s a woman living there, unseen snakes and simply all sorts of evil spirits. But, I was barely afraid of it, to me the house looks unique and charming on its own. 

Well, I explored the house when I was a kid and there’s a well there.  In some cultures, a haunting spirit can come up from the well and pull you in. Scary isn’t it? But at the time, that didn’t scare me at all.

For as long as I remember, the  inside of the house itself can be seen through my balcony. But for the last 3 years or so, it has been occupied, not by spirits but lush greenery. It’s almost like a mini urban jungle. 

Today, I was walking down the neighborhood after my 30 minute walk and saw some trumpets looking like flowers blooming so beautifully. I didn’t take pictures of it as I was rushing home and somehow forgot about it. Till I saw flowers all around the *snaps* it reminded me that in some parts of the world, spring has come. 




In particular it was the @justclickindiva snap that made me jump out of my chair, grab my camera and explore the house again, just from the outside. These days, the house is protected by huge plants owned by one of my neighbors. So, I was using the camera zoom to capture and click  the flowers that bloom.

You see, we don’t have spring here but the plants and flowers here live as if they have their own 4th season. From November-March, this house looks eerie and dull.  The plants withers, there are no butterflies, no flowers, just withering leaves falling from its biggest and tallest tree in that house. Then, late april, they started to bloom, the house was alive once again, reminding us that they exist, among us.

It asks us to look at its direction. 

Our bougainvillea is starting to bloom as well. This one is my favorite flower that adorns our surroundings. They're a great object especially during April to July. I always feature them in my blog as well.

These things remind us that when it’s time it’ll bloom. I don’t know about you but as someone who reflects a lot, little things in life always feels like a reminder. These flowers and their bloom cycle simply reminds me to give it a time, for things shall pass. 

## “ To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; – Ecclesiastes 3:1,3”

That specific verse and the following verses talk about these time cycles. It’s such a powerful reminder, especially when you’re going through life’s challenges and difficulties. 

### A Morning Coffee Made by My Mom, with extra love…

Today, I also tried to teach my mom how to make a good pour over coffee. It’s a bonus to me if one day, I become too lazy to make my own coffee. She’ll know how to do it just the way I like it.

I want to constantly encourage my mom, that her spirit should remain young. She’s all I have and time isn’t something I can buy.  While I can, I have to spend more time with her in ways that I can and we can. Even this simple thing such as making coffee can be quite a fun and meaningful activity. I want her to  experience the beauty life has to offer and do things that she hasn’t been able to do these past two years.

Just look at how she’s almost mastering it 😀

I made us chicken teriyaki for lunch that goes so well with the iced coffee. It’s just like how it’s at a cafe.  After lunch though, I need to go back to my desk and that’s when we part ways for the day. At least I won’t be seeing her for the next 10 to 11 hours.

As we have slowly moved on from our grief, we’re trying our best to live our life again. One day at a time. And just like these flowers show us, it’ll bloom and this too all shall pass. Everything has its own time.
