I've recently scaled back my Hive posting. Instead of daily, I'm posting a couple of times a week. Moving forward, I might be posting even less frequently. This has nothing to do with Hive. I still love it here. There are just other matters requiring my attention.

My priorities are shifting due to broadly positive changes in my life. I'm putting more into wanttoknow.info and have taken on some writing for EOS. My new Substack is shaping up nicely. I'm also getting serious about getting the next scifi novel going. These things are all great, and they all take time.

There are big changes underway in my personal life as well. My girlfriend moved to town, inviting me to reevaluate my work-life balance. More life and less work seems to be where things are headed. I've spent years working too much, so the new direction feels healthy. 

All of this has brought my writing more clearly into focus. In a professional sense, my work is in high demand. I've paid my dues and turn down more offers than I accept. Several years ago, the big question was how to secure better paying jobs. Funding was scarce and time was abundant. Now my time has become the scarce resource and the big question has changed.

**_How do I want to contribute to the story of the world?_**

The perspective I bring to the table has been largely articulated in this blog and on Substack, as well as in the eight novels I've so far published. I'll continue adding material to each of these areas, but at a slower pace than I've kept up these last years. Although this work all has a social purpose, it is individualistic in nature.

My other endeavors are more collaborative. I'm part of a great team at wanttoknow.info and we're educating people about pressing societal problems. The articles I write in the crypto space contribute in small but meaningful ways to the emerging blockchain economy, which is the only viable alternative to the corrupt and unfair legacy system. Everything in these areas is part of a larger effort, undertaken by many people, for the public good.  

When I ask myself what I want to contribute, the first thing that comes up is motivation. The world has slid into dystopia. Culture is at a dangerous turning point. I feel motivated as never before to stand up and demand that we do better. Acting on this, writing about problems and their solutions, my aim is to contribute to the adoption of these solutions.

On a deeper level, there's a massive societal transformation beginning, and I want to contribute constructively to this transformation. We're at a tipping point and most of those who understand this seem obsessed with finding and punishing the bad people. My focus is elsewhere, on systemic change and how to peaceably bring that change about. What I most want to contribute to is the appropriate navigation of this change.

I do plan to keep posting here on Hive, just more sporadically than every day.
