Hola queridos hivers, ayer estuve recordando la etapa de adolescencia de mi hija y las noches que pasé en vela cuando iba a las fiestas de sus amigos, pero también recordé cómo yo viví esa etapa y los dolores de cabeza que sufrió mi papá por mí. En esos días yo era como todo adolescente un poco rebelde y mi papá muy sobreprotector, me llevaba y me iba a buscar temprano a las fiestas, yo lloraba de la rabia y peleábamos horrible, yo pensaba que cuando fuera madre no iba a ser como él en lo referente al tema de la independencia y las fiestas.

In those days I was like every teenager a little rebellious and my dad was very overprotective, he took me and went to pick me up early at the parties, I cried with anger and we fought horrible, I thought that when I was a mother I would not be like him regarding the theme of independence and holidays.

Luego que me convertí en madre y mi hija adolescente comenzó a ir a las fiestas, fue entonces que comprendí todo lo que mis padres se preocupaban, ellos no dormían hasta que yo estaba en mí cama. Los adolescentes suelen ser rebeldes y pasan por una etapa de identidad muy difícil en la adolescencia y es allí que cómo padres tenemos que apoyar y dar consejos para que no comentan graves errores que puedan empañar su futuro.

Adolescents are usually rebellious and go through a very difficult identity stage in adolescence and it is there that as parents we have to support and give advice so that they do not comment on serious mistakes that could tarnish their future.

Cuando mi hija adolescente me pidió ir a una fiesta con amigos yo me senté  a negociar con ella algunas cosas, no quise imponer mis criterios ya que quería que se sintiera incluida. Negociamos la hora de regreso a casa, pero una cosa que le dije era que su papá iba a llevarla y recogerla a esa hora establecida. Hablamos de muchas cosas, puedo mencionar:

-No recibir bebidas de extraños, le dije que no tenía edad para beber licor y si aun así iba a tomar tuviera cuidado, una dama toma con moderación y sabe parar.

-Nunca salir de la fiesta con nadie, que si quería irse por alguna razón me llamara para ir a recogerla.

-Jamás subir a un vehículo con una persona que esté ingiriendo licor.

-Decir siempre no a las drogas.

>When my teenage daughter asked me to go to a party with friends, I sat down to negotiate some things with her, I did not want to impose my criteria since I wanted her to feel included. We negotiated the time to return home, but one thing I told her was that her father was going to take her and pick her up at that set time. We talk about many things, I can mention:

-Do not receive drinks from strangers, I told her that she was not old enough to drink liquor and if she was still going to drink she be careful, a lady drinks in moderation and she knows how to stop.
-She never left the party with anyone, if she wanted to leave for any reason she would call me to pick her up.
-Never get into a vehicle with a person who is drinking liquor.
-Always say no to drugs.

En mi opinión lo más importante es tener una buena comunión con el adolescente, negociar y dar consejos, no imponer nuestra forma de pensar.
