Mi nombre es María Fernanda pero pueden llamarme *Mafer*, tengo diecinueve años y actualmente *soy estudiante del tercer semestre de Medicina* de la Universidad de Oriente (U.D.O), hace dos años obtuve mi título de bachiller en ciencias en el Colegio Nuestra Señora del Valle, también conocido como *"La casa rosada"*, lugar en donde estudié durante *catorce años* (desde los tres años hasta los diecisiete) y al cual *le agradezco* mucho por todas las amistades que hice, personas maravillosas que conocí y las enseñanzas que me llevaré de por vida.

My name is María Fernanda but you can call me *Mafer*, I am nineteen years old and I am currently a *third semester Medicine student* from the Universidad de Oriente, two years ago I obtained my bachelor of science degree at “Colegio Nuestra Señora del Valle” (Our Lady of the Valley School), also known as *"La casa rosada" (The Pink House)*, the place where I studied for *fourteen years* (from three to seventeen years old), which *I thank very much* for all the friends I made, wonderful people I met and the teachings that I will take with me for life.

*Desde que tengo memoria, el querer estudiar medicina siempre ha estado conmigo*, e incluso, mis familiares y personas que me conocen desde que era niña saben que cada vez que se me preguntaba que quería ser grande yo respondía *“doctora”*; a diferencia de muchos niños que cambian de parecer ante pregunta tan importante (la cual en nuestros primeros años de vida no vemos tan seria hasta que vamos creciendo y entendemos lo necesario de plantearse una respuesta definitiva a la misma) y cada día quieren ser algo diferente; *yo siempre tuve esa respuesta fija*. Todo se lo agradezco a *mis padres* quienes desde muy pequeña *me impulsaron a querer a la que hace un tiempo ya he elegido como mi carrera*; bastó con un kit de primeros auxilios de juguete como regalo de navidad y disfrazarme de doctora en carnavales para interesarme en mundo de la salud, mientras crecía veía muchos programas referentes a la carrera y me encantaban, *me veía como una de esas doctoras… siempre los he admirado.*

>*Since I can remember, wanting to study medicine has always been with me*, and even my relatives and people who have known me since I was a child, know that every time that someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, my answer was *"a doctor"*; Unlike many children who change their minds with such an important question (which in our first years of life we do not see it as serious until we grow up and understand the need to consider a definitive answer to it) and every new day they want to be something different; *I always had the same answer*. I thank *my parents* for everything, who from a very young age *encouraged me to love the one that I have chosen as my career some time ago*; It was enough with a first aid kit toy as a Christmas gift and dressed me up as a doctor for Carnival to awake my interest in the world of health, while growing up I watched many programs related to that career (Medicine) and I loved them, *I saw myself as one of those doctors ... I always have admired them.*

*Sé que tomé la elección correcta al decidir estudiar medicina porque sé que es la carrera que elegiría una y otra vez.* Mis padres me ayudaron a elegirla desde muy niña al despertar ese interés en mí a tan temprana edad, sin embargo sé, que eventualmente yo misma encontraría ese interés en ella.

>*I know that I made the right choice when deciding to study medicine because I know that it is the career that I would choose over and over again.* My parents helped me to choose it by awakening that interest in me at such a young age; however I know that eventually I would find that interest in it by myself.

*Actualmente también estoy estudiando para ser técnico superior en inglés y desde que tengo ocho años he visto su estudio como una necesidad importante en mi vida.* A esa edad empecé a escuchar *las canciones de Lady Gaga y desde ahí empezó mi interés en aprender inglés;* los ritmos de las canciones, la voz de Lady y lo extrañamente lindo que sonaba su idioma llamó tanto mi atención que *me propuse que un día cantaría todas sus canciones con una pronunciación correcta; el hecho de no entender nada de lo que cantaba me hizo querer añadir a la lista el entender sus letras sin necesidad de buscar la traducción.* Al pasar de los años me fue gustando cada vez más aprender el idioma (aprovechaba las clases del colegio y me grababa la mayoría de la palabras de las canciones de Lady que podía), eventualmente, *mi motivo fue ampliándose y entonces ya no solo quería entender y pronunciar bien las canciones de Lady Gaga sino también las de One Direction,* con ellos el interés creció puesto a que para ese entonces (2013, una María Fernanda de ahora once años) no solo quería entender sus canciones sino todo lo que decían… yo veía por YouTube sus entrevistas subtituladas (para ese tiempo no eran muchas), los seguía en redes y su acento tan distinto al de Lady me encantó mucho más, con el tiempo fui conociendo más artistas del habla inglesa, veía películas en dicho idioma y para cuando lo noté entendía muchas palabras, partes de conversaciones y hasta tenía una buena pronunciación… *el tiempo pasó y hasta empecé a dar cursos de inglés; el año pasado decidí empezar el técnico medio en el idioma.*

>*Currently I am also studying to be a Higher Technician in English and since I was eight years old I have seen its study (of English) as an important need in my life.* At that age I began to listen to *Lady Gaga's songs and from there my interest in learning English started;* the rhythms of the songs, Lady's voice and how strangely cute her language sounded caught my attention so much that *I decided that one day I would sing all her songs with correct pronunciation; the fact of not understanding anything of what she sang made me want to add to the list “understanding her lyrics without having to search for the translation”.* As the years went by, I began to enjoy learning the language more and more (I made most of the school classes and learned as much of the words of Lady's songs as I could), eventually, *my motive was broadened and then I no longer just wanted to understand and pronounce the songs of Lady Gaga well but also the ones from One Direction,* with them the interest grew ever since at that time (2013, a María Fernanda now eleven years old) I didn’t only want to understand their songs but everything they said... I watched their subtitled interviews on YouTube (that time there weren't many), I followed them on social media and I loved their accent so different from Lady's, over time I got to know more English-speaking artists, I watched movies in that language and when I noticed it, I understood many words, parts of conversations and I even had a good pronunciation… *time passed and I even started giving English classes; last year I decided to start the higher technical in the language.*

Adoro totalmente los ambientes familiares (no importa que no sea con mi familia, el hecho de ir a casa de mis amigos y que su familia esté allí siendo feliz y riendo, para mi es excelente), para mi significan mucho y me hacen feliz; *soy muy unida con mis padres*, tenemos una excelente relación. *En unos años espero lograr todas mis metas, hacerlos sentir orgullosos de mí y devolverles todo lo maravilloso que me han dado*; tuve una infancia feliz y llena de amor, mi adolescencia e inicio de mi vida adulta sigue siendo igual de feliz y llena de amor.

>I totally adore family environments (it doesn’t matter if it is not with my family, the fact of going to my friends' house and their family is there being happy and laughing, it is excellent to me), and they mean a lot to me; *I am very close to my parents,* we have an excellent relationship. *In a few years I hope to achieve all my goals, make them feel proud of me and give them back all the wonderful things they have given me*; I had a happy and loving childhood, my teenagehood and beginning of my adulthood is still just as happy and full of love.

Entre mis pasatiempos está el maquillaje, puedo pasar horas viendo vídeos sobre nuevas técnicas y aprendiendo tips para luego practicarlos con mi mamá o conmigo, también me gusta ver series, películas y escuchar podcasts (siempre y cuando esté de vacaciones).

>Among my hobbies is makeup, I can spend hours watching videos about new techniques and learning tips and then practice them with my mother or with me, I also like to watch series, movies and listen to podcasts (only while I am on vacations).

Conozco el *blogging* desde hace mucho tiempo, personalmente me gusta escribir, puede ser una historia, una vivencia personal, incluso trabajé haciendo las publicaciones en Instagram para una empresa de paseos caninos. Sin embargo, nunca pensé en hacer mi propio blog hasta que mi vecino me contó sobre esta plataforma y decidí empezar en ella. Mi espacio en **Hive** será dedicado a los temas que me gustan: *Reseñas, maquillaje, tips de estudio y organización, incluso alguno que otro post referente al inglés y a la medicina*; espero que mi contenido sea útil para ustedes, ¡nos leemos pronto!

>I have known about *blogging* for a long time, I personally like to write, it can be a story, a personal experience, I even worked writing the posts on Instagram for a dog walking company. However, I never thought of starting my own blog until my neighbor told me about this platform and I decided to start on it. My space in **Hive** will be dedicated to the topics I like: *Reviews, makeup, study tips and organization, even occasional posts about English and Medicine*; I hope my content is useful for you, see you soon!<div class="text-right">
