Sometimes when you watch a Kung Fu demonstration or kung fu clips on Youtube, you might say to yourself: "I would never be able to do that!"
你在看功夫表演或是功夫影片時，你可能想: 「我永遠都不可能做這些動作!」

But, what you didn't realise was, the person demonstrating the kung fu routine had to start on routines which were a lot easier, and gradually build up to be able to do the routine that he was performing.
但你可能沒想過，表演功夫套路的人，也是從簡單的套路開始練起，然後再慢慢練些稍微難一點的套路，直到他能夠表演一些高難度的套路。

Even though I had done Chinese kung fu for a while, my knowledge in kung fu was confined to using fist. I practiced some Shaolin First forms as well as Tai Chi, but I only started weapons training about 3 years ago. I used to think that weapons would be a lot more advanced, which is why I hadn't started it earlier.
雖然我的中國功夫已經練了很久，但大部分時間都只練拳法，比如少林拳或太極拳，一直到三年前我才開始練兵器。在此之前我一直以為兵器會很難練，所以都沒試過。

One of my colleages at work who is a Kung Fu master started teaching me some weapon work. That's when I realised, not only is it not hard, it is also good exercise, because swinging the weapon around is a bit like lifting weights at the gym, it has the same benefits as weight training.
我有一位同事是功夫老師。他教我練習兵器套路。我學了一陣子後，發現其實不難，而且還是很好的運動，因為就像在健身房舉重一樣，舉兵器也有同樣的效果。

Some weapons are more difficult than others. The simplest weapon in my opinion to start with is walking stick. It is also a weapon that anyone can easily find or purchase.
