<center>*On our tour of Venezuela, it is time to visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Coromoto, which is located in Portuguesa state, a few kilometers from the city of Guanare. Many people visit this place, whether they are believers or not, to appreciate the magnitude of this construction work and also to learn a little about the history of the apparition. <div class="text-justify"><p>In 1996, Venezuela received a visit from Saint John Paul II who inaugurated the Sanctuary. I remember seeing the broadcast of that visit and there were a great number of pilgrims in that place, approximately more than two million people from various parts of the country. The Sanctuary has a capacity for more than 2,500 people.</p></div>

> <div class="text-justify"><p>En el año 1996, Venezuela recibió la visita de San Juan Pablo II quien fue el que inauguró el Santuario. Recuerdo haber visto la transmisión de aquella visita y había una gran cantidad de peregrinos en aquel lugar, aproximadamente más de dos millones de personas procedentes de varias partes del país. El Santuario tiene una capacidad para albergar a más de 2.500 personas.</p></div>

<div class="text-justify"><p>The interior of the Basilica is really beautiful, with a high altar in the center where behind it is the Throne of the Virgin, there you can see the image on a holy card that the Virgin left to the Indian called Coromoto at her appearance. It also has two other altars on the sides and a phrase that shows what the Virgin said to Coromoto, indicating that he and his tribe should be baptized.</p></div> 

> <div class="text-justify"><p>El interior de la Basílica es realmente hermoso, con un altar mayor en el centro en el que detrás se encuentra el Trono de la Virgen, ahí puedes ver la imagen en una estampita que dejó la Virgen al indio Coromoto en su aparición. También cuenta con otros dos altares a los costados y la frase que le dijo la Virgen al indio, indicándole que debían bautizarse.</p></div>

<div class="text-justify"><p>On the second floor of the Basilica, which you can access by elevator, there is a viewpoint, where visitors can admire the beauty of the Venezuelan plains, with very well maintained gardens and an extension of land belonging to the states of Portuguesa and Barinas.</p></div> 

> <div class="text-justify"><p>En el primer piso de la Basílica, al cual puedes acceder por un ascensor, hay un mirador, en el cual los visitantes pueden admirar la belleza de los llanos venezolanos, con unos jardines muy bien cuidados y una extensión de tierra perteneciente a los estados Portuguesa y Barinas.</p></div>

<div class="text-justify"><p>In the basement of the Basilica there is a museum, in which you can find the vestments worn by the Pope during his visit and also relics left by the pilgrims for the miracles granted by the Virgin of Coromoto. There is also a store where you can buy souvenirs with the image of the Virgin.</p></div> 

> <div class="text-justify"><p>En el sótano de la Basílica se encuentra un museo, en el cual se puede encontrar las vestiduras que usó el Papa en su visita y también reliquias que han dejado los peregrinos por los milagros concedidos por la Virgen de Coromoto. Además, hay una tienda donde se pueden comprar suvenires con la imagen de la Virgen.</p></div>

<div class="text-justify"><p>This Sanctuary is a place you should definitely visit if you are in Venezuela, to admire a little bit of history and also one of the most magnificent, modern and important architectural work in Latin America, comparable to that of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico and Our Lady of Aparecida in Brazil.</p></div>
