If you are a Python programmer interested in robotics, Adafruit might have just the thing for you.

The Crickit pairs with their Circuit Playground and Feather product line, and extends them to have more abilities and features.

Cricket stands for Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit.

While at $50 USD + $18 import duty means this is not a cheap throwaway toy, I am sure distribution will improve, plus what you really pay for with Adafruit is R&D, support, and code libraries.

Their CircuitPython variant of MicroPython is getting more and more mature, and this board will surely help more people get making physical things that do stuff :)

Fine board but it does get quite pricey once you start adding servos, motors etc. Would be great for my daughter or to introduce to schools here in Jamaica.

Yeah at some point Adafruit stuff always gets cloned, but even then it will probably still be on the premium end and not something to leave in projects :)
