I'd take part of my pay in cryptocurrency.  My only concern is who will accept payment with cryptocurrency.  It needs to stabilize before people will use it for payment and transactions.

I guess it would be like with my USD salary, before we can spend it we have to convert it to CAD, and take any hit that involves at the time. Sometimes we come out ahead and sometimes we lose. There was a time there that CAD > USD. That was NOT fun.

A year ago, my boss asked me the same and I said yes. But he was kidding because of course he didn’t have a clue what bitcoin was. A year of salaries in BTC, imagine what that would be worth now!

One thing getting paid in crypto would do is introduce pay uncertainty - right now I get paid in USD and that has enough variation that it can be difficult to know how much CAD we will have once the bank transfers are done ...
