I actually set my alarm this morning so I would have time to write this post before catching my train back to Stockholm. I have been meaning to write a post earlier from my stay here at my mom's but I have just been enjoying myself too much π The weather has been amazing and I have had more energy than I have experienced in years. So I have been quite active and it just gives me a taste of how my life could be if I always felt this good physically. <center><center>*I was so happy to spot some blue wood anemones. They are really a sign of spring here and bring back so many memories from my childhood.*</center></center> <center><center>*It's the same with coltsfoot. It's actually usually the very first flower you spot after the winter here.*</center></center> As some of you might know, when I visit my mom I usually split my time between 2 places. The place where my mom lives (and where I grew up) and my mom's other property which is about 35 kilometers from where she lives. Her other property is actually where she grew up but it's a complicated history and I guess that's a topic for another post. But anyway, my (future) cottage is part of my mom's other property and there is also a new bigger house. And just some weeks ago, the bathroom in the bigger house was finished so that means it's so much easier to actually spend some time there (so far we never spend the night since the place isn't finished). But a bathroom of course makes a big difference and now I'm slowly starting to plan the next 4-5 months. <center></center><center>*A washing machine is yet to be installed but otherwise the bathroom is more or less finished. I helped my mom to choose the material but I wasn't involved in the actual work. It's quite a transformation since it was just an empty room before.*</center> No big surprise but my employer has offered me a new extension of my job contract until the end of September. (My current contract expires by the end of June). This might seem strange but I had actually hoped to become unemployed for a while. I really feel that I can't spend more time like this, at this job. And I hoped to be able to travel a bit towards the end of the summer. But well, let's see what happens. Now I plan to do everything I can to be able to sell my flat before the summer. It'll be easier to plan once my flat is sold. As some of you might know, I haven't been able to move forward with these plans due to my health. But just before I went to my mom for Easter I spent some days painting windows in my flat and I'll continue now when I get back. I decided to really push myself with this even if I feel unwell. Because it's just something that holds me back so much, feeling stuck in a place where I really don't want to be. So that is really my main focus, getting my flat ready for the market. I have to believe I can do it! <center></center> But regardless of what happens with my flat, I'll spend some time working on my cottage this summer. I know I talk about this a lot, what a big investment it is, and so on. But I just have to start to do something. I have had these plans for years and I'm not getting any younger. I have really felt a lot lately that life is short. Even though I feel very strongly about this place I can't help but doubt myself sometimes. I'll be so isolated there. But I really believe the next steps will become clear once I take this step. I just have to trust the process. And something is definitely pulling me towards this place. <center></center><center>*Along this sunny wall I found some very tender nettles. I had really hoped to pick some nettles this weekend so I was very happy to discover these (below). My mom later cooked an amazing nettle soup.*</center> <center></center> <center><center></center>*We also found some daffodils, which of course, felt very much like Easter.*</center> <center></center><center>*View from my mom's new house.*</center> <center><center>*These wood anemones blooms just after the blue ones (in the first picture). Soon the whole area will be covered with these. Such a beautiful time ahead. I'm not really looking forward to getting back to the city center of Stockholm.*</center></center> Now I have to get ready so I don't miss my train. I hope to return soon. I also have one more post I want to write about this weekend. A small project I finished at my mom's. Oh, yes the small project...I'm not sure I'll write about that now when some time has passed... But I cleared out and redecorated my mom's small guest house (she tends to use it as a storage space). I thought I would stay there when I visit this summer. It's a lovely small house π The building to the left in the first picture. It also has a sauna (which I actually used this time). I planned to post some 'before' and 'after' pictures but now I'm only giving you the 'after' picture π
