I have to strongly disagree. I think it helps weed people out that are resteeming too often. It's easy to unfollow. Maybe a separate feed for resteemed content should be in order. The people I respect most have turned me on to new users who have very interesting content.

Also after you vote on a great article and resteem it, now your followers can see it and curation rewards are better for you. You shouldn't resteem too often or like you said, it becomes annoying. But now even if you don't post blogs every day, you can resteem content and make better curation rewards.

It's simply a tool to use and those who abuse it will see the number of followers drop. If I were to resteem a favorite movie review you did, that exposes you to all my followers far easier than the nameinlights but both do a great job. 

But you are absolutely correct about some people having 0 clue about how to use this feature to maximize profit for them and help the original poster.

It's your feed and you can unfollow if you want too.

as i explained to @dantheman there is always a user solution it's quite simple.

for example rather than missing out on some great 'Re-steems' that someone found why not just turn off 're-steems' for the person that was 'spamming' 

think about it .. 

- you originally followed that person for some reason right? (you took an action)
- now you want to un-follow them due to them 're-steem' 'spamming' things you don't like.  (their actions) (the taste of their non original content) 

for exaple you may follow someone becasue you love thier orginal artwork - but they love to Re-steem cheese articles - (well they just love cheese) but they don't fully understand the 're-steem' concept (or they just think it shoudl be ok to Re-steem cheese articles) 

the solution is simple an option to turn it off for the that user that is re-steeming thing you don't want to see. 

you get back to where you were (i.e with their original content) as if no further actions were taken past you 'following' 

if you are made to 'un-follow' then you potential miss out on content. (which is by definition less flexible)

I had the same reaction to the REBLOG function at first, but after seeing it in action, actually I began to like it...  its about letting yourself free.. and not being so controlling of the flow... I think you will like ones you get used to it

I just found a bit of a "hole" in my point of view. There are cases of posts that i want to resteem, purely from at humanitarian or Steemit stability point of view. Those are not for personal gains, but for moral reasons.

Yes, I totaly agree with you; so we take the risk not being resteemed by others...

You can also go to a user's blog `@user/blog` to see their content and their resteemed content. Anything on the user's blog is what you will see if you follow them, so there are no surprises if you follow them.

I don't see resteeming as "tell[ing your] followers what to think" any more than blogging is telling them what to think. You may not like resteeming, but I don't think your reasoning is sound.

I'll grant you this, users who "abuse" the button and spam my feed with everything they like is annoying. Those users are worthy of an unfollow.

surely a way to disable it will be implemented, like on twitter where you can hide retweets from your feed.
