Hey guys, @mannyz here. Let's take a look at what LOGIC and CRITICAL THINKING is all about (a little bit).
Logic is inevitably in our lives. Right from the day one starts having thoughts, till the day the person dies, logic is applied in all aspects of one's life. We need to critically analyse ideas before presenting them in writing, speeches, conducting businesses, etc. The application of logic is done only by students and lecturers, but by everybody young and old, male and female in our daily activities, unless the person is mentally disabled. One cannot be illogical without being logical in the first instance, because the decision to be illogical requires logic.

Logic is an important area of philosophy which deals with finding and establishing truth. Kahane, (1968) defines logic as an attempt to distinguish between correct (valid) and incorrect (invalid) arguments. Logic is not how people reason but it is concerned with argument and knowing whether or not people know these arguments or use them at their appropriate times. In other words, logic deals with validation of arguments only.
Critical thinking, on the other hand is complementary to logic in that it is a path to freedom from half-truths and deception and helps to uncover bias and prejudice. It awakens one to accept or reject the conclusion of an argument. It guides one to recognise propaganda techniques and makes one to appreciate complexities involved in decision-making and problem solving.
