Hello Hive friends. The main picture of this post, is my entry for the 📷 [**POBphotocontest New Round: HEIGHTS**](https://ecency.com/hive-150329/@friendlymoose/pobphotocontest-new-round-heights#@marbrym/re-friendlymoose-regkqg). That it is not a good quality photo, well, you are absolutely right, it is not one of my best photos, but in view of part of the text of the invitation to this initiative, I decided to apply with this photograph. Now, I'll tell you a little about this photograph. It was taken with my personal phone at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum in Orlando, Florida. This is a depiction of the tallest man on irrefutable record, and accompanying him are my husband and son.

But who is this guy? you may ask. Well, he's Robert Wadlow, and he occupies a well-deserved spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the *Tallest Man in the World*. Robert was born in February 22, 1918 in Alton, Illinois.
The story of this man is both amazing and sad, for at only 5 years old he was already 1.63 meters tall, almost as tall as I am, who consider myself to be a woman of normal height, and at the age of 8 he was already over 6 feet tall. Obviously that meant I didn't have an easy life. I can't even imagine what it would be like.
Despite that, her large stature caused her many health problems so that at a young age she had to start using orthopedic devices and a cane. Of course, his enormous size also made him famous and this earned him some money. However, he had a very short life and died in 1940 when he was only 22.
His death was caused by sepsis, the result of ill-fitting braces. Hey, excuse me, I haven't told you when the tallest man in the world was tall. Well, Robert Wadlow was 2.72 meters (8'11") tall. También, ostenta el puesto de tener las manos y pies más grandes del mundo.

The history of it is amazing, but now you might wonder if it will be worth visiting that museum to learn about Wadlow and many other interesting things. Well, if you like strange things you will surely enjoy it, but if not, don't waste your money going there. The case of Wadlow is interesting but you will find there some very strange and even creepy things obviously, in the style of Believe It or Not! Maybe someday I'll write a post about our experience at this Ripley museum.
It sure was a lot for this *contest* but I had to take advantage of the photo opportunity to talk a bit about this experience.

Que no es una foto de buena calidad, bueno, tienes toda la razón, no es una de mis mejores fotos, pero en vista de parte del texto de la invitación a esta iniciativa, he decidido aplicar con esta fotografía. Ahora, te contaré un poco sobre esta fotografía. Fue tomada con mi teléfono personal en el Museo Ripley's Believe It or Not! en la ciudad de Orlando, Florida. Esta es la representación del hombre más alto de quien hay constancia irrefutable, y quienes lo acompañan son mi esposo y mi hijo.

Pero ¿quién es ese sujeto? quizás te preguntes. Bueno, él es Robert Wadlow, y ocupa un buen merecido puesto en el libro de Record Guinness como el *Hombre más alto del Mundo*. Robert nació el 22 de febrero de 1918 en Alton, Illinois.
La historia de este hombre es asombrosa y a la vez triste, pues con tan solo 5 años ya medía 1,63 metros, casi la estatura que tengo yo, que me considero una mujer de estatura normal, y a los 8 años ya pasaba los 1,80 metros. Evidentemente eso significaba que no tenía una vida fácil. Ni siquiera puedo imaginar cómo sería.
A pesar de ello, su gran estatura le ocasionaba muchos problemas de salud por los que a corta edad tuvo que comenzar a utilizar artefactos ortopédicos y un bastón. Claro, su enorme tamaño también lo hizo famoso y esto lo hizo ganar algo de dinero. Sin embargo tuvo una vida muy corta y murió en 1940 con tan solo 22.
Su muerte fue ocasionada por una sepsia, producto de unos aparatos ortopédicos mal ajustados. Oye, disculpa, aun no te he dicho cuando medía el hombre más alto del mundo. Pues, Robert Wadlow llego a medir 2,72 metros (8´11"). También, ostenta el puesto de tener las manos y pies más grandes del mundo.

La historia de él es asombrosa, pero ahora te preguntarás si valdrá la pena visitar ese museo para conocer sobre Wadlow y otras muchas cosas interesantes. Bueno, si te gustan las cosas extrañas seguro lo disfrutaras, pero si no, no malgaste tu dinero yendo allí. El caso de Wadlow es interesante pero te encontrarás allí con cosas muy extrañas y hasta escalofriantes obviamente, al estilo de Believe It or Not! Quizás algún día redacte un post sobre nuestra experiencia en este museo de Ripley.
Seguro fue mucho para este *contest* pero tenía que aprovechar la ocasión de la fotografía para hablar un poco de esta experiencia.
