Lors de son écoulement la zone extérieur au contact de l'air, est "moins" chaude, elle refroidit donc plus rapidement que son coeur et forme une croute qui stoppe son écoulement en se figeant. Mais à l'intérieur, la lave continue à couler jusqu'à sa dernière goutte ! Lorsque la totalité de la lave sera passée, il restera un tube creux à l'intérieur, le tube de lave où nous nous sommes rendus quelques milliers d'années après son écoulement.</center></td>

Ici les contrastes sont incroyables, et la colonne d'eau fait ressortir des bleus saisissants. En avançant la lumière s'affaiblit rapidement et tout devient sombre, noir, totalement noir. Plus aucune notion de l'endroit où se trouve l'entrée, de la profondeur, du nord, du sud, seules nos lampes nous guident. C'est à ce moment que la prudence est de mise ! Voici quelques images.</center></td>
