###   The tests are unpredictable

In verse 2, the verb "find" is the same word that Jesus used in the parable of the Good Samaritan, when he said: "A man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of thieves » (Luke 10:30, emphasis ours). It's as if Santiago I was saying that any day, any time, there is some evidence waiting to lurk, list to jump on us. In each of our lives, some devastating test could be to the around the corner.

###  The tests prove the faith

This does not mean that God causes events difficult, despicable and devastating what happens in our lives That is, our faith, our trust and our security in God they are put to "test" when things go wrong. It is easy to believe in God and have faith in His promises when everything is fine However, what happens to him to your faith when you lose your job, when you're scammed of the savings of a lifetime, when it has been diagnosed with a deadly disease, when your spouse leaves you or one of your children Do you become addicted to drugs? What does he do then? The trials of life place faith in the fire, and from the furnace a pure faith always emerges brighter and stronger.


###  The tests create perseverance
The question that is answered when it is "proven" Faith is, "Persevere?" It is not possible to obtain patience reading a book, listening to a sermon nor raising a prayer. When the tests come, we tend to believe that it does not make much sense that we continue to do good, which we know we must do, because it seems that we are not being rewarded for the good we do. Santiago says that the only way that patience and the character can be cultivated in our lives is through the tests. We have to go through the difficulties of life trusting and obeying God!
