Do you remember? Lode Runner, a very peculiar video game released in 1983 for the nintendo NES, striking for combining the puzzle and the action. They say that sometimes the simple things are usually the best, in video games this doesn't apply much that we say, because if a game turns out to be so simple, it becomes something boring, but with Lode Runner there was a particularity, a quite simple game in which the main objective was to collect the gold that was on the stage to enable us a ladder, which we had to climb to reach the next level, something quite simple, right?.

¿Lo recuerdas?. Lode Runner, un videojuego muy peculiar estrenado en 1983 para el nintendo NES, llamativo por combinar el puzzle y la acción. Dicen que a veces las cosas simples suelen ser las mejores, en los videojuegos esto no aplica mucho que digamos, porque si un juego resulta ser tan simple, se convierte en algo aburrido, pero con Lode Runner existía una particularidad, un juego bastante sencillo en el que el objetivo principal era recoger el oro que se encontraba en el escenario para que se nos habilitara una escalera, la cual debíamos ascender para llegar al siguiente nivel, algo bastante sencillo, ¿verdad?.

Quienes lograron disfrutar de este videojuego entenderán el reto que representaba, su dificultad era notoria desde el primer escenario, debías recoger todo el oro tratando de no cruzarte con los robots que intentaban arruinar a toda costa tu objetivo. Afortunadamente te podías defender, para ello, hacías agujeros en el suelo para que los robots quedaran enterrados temporalmente y te diera el tiempo necesario para huir, aunque en muchos casos utilizábamos esta técnica para que los robots que venían hacia nosotros quedaran enterrados y pudiéramos pasar sobre ellos para ir al otro extremo del escenario, algo bastante útil cuando en ocasiones te acorralaban por ambos lados, derecha e izquierda. También estratégicamente hacíamos agujeros en el suelo a cierta distancia de los robots para que al caer en ellos, el agujero se cerrara y se comiera al robot, y aunque con esto no los destruías, lograbas que nacieran nuevamente en la parte superior de la pantalla, alejados de ti.

Muchas veces, recogías todo el oro, pero las escaleras para ir al siguiente nivel no se habilitaban, esto era porque algún robot tenía con él, parte del oro del escenario, y la única forma de quitárselo era atrapándolo en un agujero, lo que hacía que se desprendiera del oro dejándolo encima de su cabeza, momento en el que rápidamente lo tomábamos y corríamos hacia las escaleras para culminar el nivel.

Otra de las grandes dificultades del juego era el hecho de no contar con una visibilidad del 100% del escenario, por lo inicialmente el juego nos enseñaba todo el mapa antes de iniciar cada nivel, de forma que rápidamente debíamos memorizar cosas puntuales como: Donde se encontraban los robots, cuantos eran, donde estaba todo el oro y cuales eran las rutas para llegar a él, lo que le agregaba ese plus adicional de suspenso al caminar hacía un lado pero sin saber si ibas directo a un enemigo, algo que pasaba frecuentemente.

Finalmente, el videojuego contaba también con la opción para personalizar un escenario a tu estilo, por lo que podías poner a prueba tu imaginación diseñando un mundo con la dificultad que desearas. El juego tenía un total de 50 escenarios, por lo que para culminarlo, te tomaría cierto tiempo, principalmente porque al principio debías adoptar un estilo de juego y estrategias para avanzar en cada nivel, aunque principalmente estábamos acostumbrados a improvisar en cada momento.

En resumen, Lune Runner era un juego bastante entretenido, que a pesar de su dificultad, podías disfrutarlo poniendo a prueba tu agilidad, y si perdías, te impulsaba a volver a intentar el escenario hasta el punto de superarlo y completar el juego.

Buen post, recuerdo que ese era mi juego favorito de niño cuando tenia mi consola  nintendo, Cometi muchos errores en ese juego al crear los agujeros y caer en ellos jajaja...y después de tantos años me entero que es oro lo que recogía el personaje, yo pensaba que era arena jajaja. Me encanto recordar viejos tiempos
