🍒 I Have a Question about the RewardPool 🔍

Hello 😊! Red Fish, Minnow's, Dolphin's, Orcas and Whales 🐳

I read somewhere on Steemit on somebody's post, that the Steemit reward pool was being drained 💸, what I understood is that the cryptocurrency amount is low and that the reward pool needs to be refilled, so my questions are:

1. Where can I check the status of the reward pool?

2. Is there a limited amount of Steem and SBD?

3. Why is the reward pool being drained? is it because there are too many users? too much comment selfvoting? or is it because all the votes are worth more than before HF19?

4. Is the reward pool issue something common on Steemit?

I hope somebody can answer this questions or point me in the right direction 🔍

It is my understanding that the Rewards Pool will continue to shrink over time, just like the total supply of Bitcoins being released overtime continues to shrink, I think STEEM has the same feature. We will make more now than we ever will in the future. Keep on STEEMing as much as you can as an early adopter. When this becomes BIG rewards will be slim.

Not necessarily a limit. Just a nice curve. Us early adopters will reap the benefits. Less STEEM will be flowing out into circulation so the price of 1 STEEM is bound to rise

**Hi @mariacherries,**

These are big questions and can not be answered very simply but I'll take the challenge:) If something isn't clear, please ask!

1. You can check the actual reward pool on [steemd.com](https://steemd.com) under **steems reward fund/reward_balance** section.

2. No limited amount of Steem, it's an inflationary coin which means that yearly 9.5% new coins being generated, narrowing to 0.95%APR (~0.5% less each year).
3. Self voting was always an issue but since HF19 it is more significant, and in my opinion it should be restricted.
But the main reason for the reward pool drain is 
not self voting, but voting itself, because after HF19 all the people got a chance to allocate 4 times more coins to the authors.
4. I don't know what you mean:)
