After a two-week wandering around Cambodia and visiting all sorts of monuments and attractions, we wanted peace and rest. Initially, we were supposed to fly to Thailand, but we found out that there are two nice islands in Cambodia and worth visiting. It sails from Sihanoukville. I thought, it is not far, from Sihanoukville also there are planes to Thailand, if we don't like it, we will come back and fly to Thailand. | Po dwutygodniowej tułaczce po Kambodży i zwiedzaniu wszelakiej maści zabytków i atrakcji, zapragnęliśmy spokoju i odpoczynku. Początkowo mieliśmy lecieć do Tajlandii, ale dowiedzieliśmy, że są dwie fajne wysepki w Kambodży, i warto je odwiedzić. Wypływa się na nie z miejscowości Sihanoukville. Pomyślałem, nie jest daleko, z Sihanoukville również latają samoloty do Tajlandii, jak się nam nie spodoba, wrócimy i polecimy do Tajlandii.

Powstają gigantyczne hotele, sklepy i kasyna, wszystko wylewa się betonem w ślepej pogoni za pieniędzmi i dominacją. To jest zła droga, ale kto bogatemu zabroni?

It's an unpleasant sight, but within a few dozen minutes by boat, there are two beautiful islands: Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem, which are still defending themselves. But from reliable sources, from friends working on the islands, I learned that the big Chinese paw is already catching up with Koh Rong. They start their investments by building a gigantic road along the island. Just wait for hotels, casinos and all the concrete infrastructure from Sihanoukville to appear - only for the rich. | To nieprzyjemny widok, ale w ciągu kilkudziesięciu minut łodzią znajdują się dwie piękne wyspy: Koh Rong i Koh Rong Samloem, które wciąż się bronią. Do tego roku na wyspach nie było asfaltowych dróg, miejscami elektryczności i na tym polegała magia tego miejsca. Ale ze sprawdzonych źródeł, od znajomych pracujących na wyspach, dowiedziałem się, że wielka chińska łapa już dogania Koh Rong. Swoje inwestycje rozpoczynają od budowy gigantycznej drogi wzdłuż wyspy. Wystarczy poczekać, aż pojawią się hotele, kasyna i cała betonowa infrastruktura z Sihanoukville - tylko dla bogatych.
