Estos días estuve viendo algunas películas con mi papá, por lo que él quiso ver esta, es una película del 2000, llamada hombres de Honor.

Carl Brashear es nuestro protagonista, un hombre que no deja que nada lo detenga, tiene como meta ser el primer hombre negro de la marina de norteamerica, esta increíble historia está basada en una historia real, está protagonizada por  Robert De Niro y Cuba Gooding Jr.

Carl es hijo de campesinos afroamericanos, en Kentucky, en los años 1931, por lo que fueron marcados fuertemente por el racismo, a pesar de eso, su padre siempre le enseñó a luchar y trabajar duro por sus sueños, en busca de una mejor vida que la que ellos les pudieron ofrecer.

Años más adelante Carl logra entrar a las fuerzas armadas, comienza a entrenar con un grupo elite volviéndose así el primer afroamericano en pertenecer a este grupo, ninguno quería tener contacto con este, ya que no se querían relacionar con “negros”.

Tampoco tiene mucho apoyo de su instructor Billy Sunday, un hombre amargado, alcoholico y resentido que junto a sus compañeros y a su superior le intenta hacer la vida imposible, o mejor dicho, le hace la vida imposible, pero por más difícil que sea, Carl no se rinde, Carl tiene sus objetivos claros y hará todo por cumplirlos.

Cuando todo aparentemente es de sueño para Carl sufre un accidente, que aparentemente no le permitirá seguir ejerciendo, pero como hemos visto en el transcurso de la película este no se dejará detener por nada. 

Una vez más tiene que demostrar su fuerza, su valor y su perseverancia para lograr sus objetivos, para nunca rendirse, contra a todo pronóstico logro ser quien deseo ser.

Es una película que vale la pena ver, nos deja una enseñanza muy clara, si tienes tus metas claras, nada te impedirá seguir con tus objetivos, es increíble la fuerza de voluntad que tuvo ese hombre para superar todas las dificultades que tuvo, es de admirar, ya que muy poco son tan valientes de lograr lo que el logro.


Este tipo de películas me pone a pensar demasiado, ya que así vivimos hace algunos años, aún se vive ese racismo en muchos países, no solo con el color de piel, con todo en realidad, a pesar de los años y de que los tiempos cambian, no hemos logrado eliminar el odio con los demás.
