<p>¿Sabías que Sherlock Holmes, el famoso detective, tiene una hermana? ¡En este libro sí! Cuando lo obtuve no leí nada acerca de él: ningún resumen, ninguna sinopsis, ningún comentario que sirviera de abreboca acerca de la trama de esta obra (como siempre, ando perdida en las estrellas), así que cuando terminé de leer el primer capítulo, en donde la protagonista cuenta acerca de su parentesco con Mycrof y Sherlock, literalmente me quedé con la boca abierta. La sorpresa fue bien recibida, pues me encantan estos personajes, así que con interés renovado me dispuse a devorar el libro.</p>
<p>Es cierto que en el título reza: Enola Holmes, y aunque no pude evitar recordar a Sherlock, pensé que este libro, aunque tuviera alguna relación con los de Conan Doyle, iba a ser algo diferente. Que mencionaran directamente a los personajes del autor, como ya dije, me sorprendió, pero también me agradó en demasía. Investigando acerca de esta obra también me informé de que está disponible una serie en Netflix, las críticas que ojee son favorecedoras, incluso algunas afirman que la serie es mejor que el libro ya que profundiza más en ciertos asuntos que el libro no…</p>
<p> Pero yo no vine a hablar de la serie porque no la he visto, sino del libro número uno de esta trilogía, aunque eso sí, cuando los termine todos, me encantaría verla, promete ser entretenida.</p>

<p>Did you know that Sherlock Holmes, the famous detective, has a sister? In this book he does! When I got it I didn't read anything about it: no summary, no synopsis, no commentary to serve as an opener about the plot of this work (as usual, I'm lost in the stars), so when I finished reading the first chapter, where the protagonist tells about her kinship with Mycrof and Sherlock, I was literally left with my mouth open. The surprise was welcome, as I love these characters, so with renewed interest I set out to devour the book. </p>
<p>It is true that the title says: Enola Holmes, and although I could not help but remember Sherlock, I thought that this book, although it had some relation to those of Conan Doyle, was going to be something different. That they directly mentioned the author's characters, as I said, surprised me, but also pleased me too much. Researching about this work I also found out that a series is available on Netflix, the reviews I ojee are flattering, even some claim that the series is better than the book as it delves deeper into certain issues that the book does not...</p>
<p>But I did not come to talk about the series because I have not seen it, but the book number one of this trilogy, although yes, when I finish them all, I would love to see it, it promises to be entertaining.</p>

<p>La protagonista de este libro, al emprender su viaje, descubrirá ciertas cosas acerca de las mujeres y de sí misma. Por una parte, verdades incómodas, realidades de las que las féminas no pueden escapar en ese siglo, como el hecho de que no tienen los mismos derechos que los hombres y que sus vidas están destinadas a ser poca cosa en comparación a las de estos.</p>

Es cuando se prepara para entrar en un internado que se da cuenta de lo difícil que son las cosas para las mujeres y de que una vida catalogada como «aceptable» o «normal» no la hará sentir libre. Empieza a comprender que su madre desaparecida tampoco tenía esa libertad anhelada, sino que era presa de las circunstancias, algo que no había pensado Enola hasta que todo su mundo cambió. </p>
<p>Descubre, entre otras cosas, que puede ser astuta, ingeniosa y valerse de sí misma para conseguir lo que quiere; las capacidades que posee y que pretende demostrar mediante sus actos; pero sobre todo descubre lo que quiere ser cuando se entera de que el joven Marqués de Basilwheter ha desaparecido. Esto es, una «perditoriana». Es decir, una persona que encuentra cosas perdidas</p>
<p>Ahora no solo debe encontrar a su madre, sino resolver el caso del Marqués desaparecido, mientras huye de sus hermanos y enfrenta peligros que no había imaginado.</p>

<p>Es un libro que describe bien la ambientación y los escenarios del siglo XIX, al igual que las costumbres y la forma de ser de los personajes, que se ajustan bien a la época. Pese a esto, no es nada pesado, creo que es una historia sencilla, lineal y sin tantos misterios e interrogantes como cabría encontrar en un libro que trate estos temas, por lo menos esta primera parte.</p>
<p>Nada que ver con hipótesis complicadas, casos imposibles (o casi) de resolver, enemigos súper inteligentes ensañados con la protagonista… Es decir, nada que ver con Sherlock Holmes, con sus métodos y el estilo de los libros que le dieron vida. Pero supongo que de eso se trata, de separar ambos personajes. Este libro es sobre Enola Holmes, una chica decidida a ser lo que quiere, no lo que le impongan, y que lucha por ello, poniendo en riesgo su vida y dispuesta a hacer lo que haga falta para lograrlo.</p>
<p> Es un libro fácil y ligero de leer, muy breve, con una historia entretenida. Si bien presentaron un caso que resolver y quedó concluido, la historia de Enola Holmes continúa, eso es evidente al final del libro. Me proporcionó una agradable lectura y quiero continuar con los otros para poder saber la historia completa de esta chica, Enola Holmes, la primera perditoriana profesional, lógica y científica. «Como que mi apellido real es Holmes».</p>

<p>It is a book that describes well the setting and the scenarios of the nineteenth century, as well as the customs and the way of being of the characters, which fit well to the time. Despite this, it is not at all heavy, I think it is a simple story, linear and without as many mysteries and questions as you would find in a book that deals with these issues, at least this first part.</p>
<p>Nothing to do with complicated hypotheses, cases that are impossible (or almost) to solve, super-intelligent enemies who are out to get the protagonist... In other words, nothing to do with Sherlock Holmes, with his methods and the style of the books that brought him to life. But I guess that's what it's all about, separating both characters. This book is about Enola Holmes, a girl determined to be what she wants, not what is imposed on her, and who fights for it, putting her life at risk and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it.</p>
<p>It is an easy and light read, very short, with an entertaining story. While they presented a case to solve and it was concluded, the story of Enola Holmes continues, that is evident at the end of the book. It provided an enjoyable read and I want to continue with the other  so I can get the full story of this girl, Enola Holmes, the first professional, logical, scientific perditoriana. "As in, my real last name is Holmes."</p>
