<div class="text-justify"> Miguel se sentía fascinado por la lectura. Así, al llegar del colegio y cumplir con sus tareas diarias pasaba su tiempo libre sentado frente al computador. Era un mundo propio el que creaba en su mente al deleitarse con los textos literarios que le facilitaban convivir con personajes en ambientes fantásticos. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> Su abuelo le observó al pasar por la sala. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">- ¡Dios mío! - exclama junto a un suspiro. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> El abuelo José está orgulloso de su nieto. Es inteligente, ordenado, obediente... - Miguel es un niño muy tranquilo-, le dice a sus vecinos a diario. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">Pero, hay algo que le preocupa. Son muchas horas las que pasa Miguel frente al computador. Y sí que tiene razón. El estar expuesto desde temprana edad a los equipos electrónicos le habían causado a Miguel frecuentes dolores de cabeza, irritación en los ojos y visión borrosa. Como consecuencia, Miguel con tan solo 12 años de edad tiene que usar lentes correctivos por enfrentar el síndrome visual por computadora. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> Aquel día, cerca de las ocho de la noche, se apagaron las luces y los equipos. Todo quedó a oscuras. De inmediato, el pequeño Miguel llamó a su abuelo para que le ayudara a buscar con qué alumbrarse y poder ir de la sala a la habitación. Decidieron asomarse juntos a la entrada para averiguar qué pasaba. Y, para su sorpresa, todo el vecindario estaba a oscuras. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> Era una de las pocas veces que Miguel se separaba del monitor de la computadora y se reunía con su abuelo. De más está decir que lo hizo obligado por el percance. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> Los días pasaban y la situación empeoraba. Había rumores de que un apagón general había afectado a toda la Nación. Algo impensable e inaudito. ¿Cómo era posible? Nadie lo sabía. Lo cierto era que todos estaban pasando por una situación insostenible. Los alimentos empezaron a escasear y las personas a desesperar. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> La falla eléctrica hacía reflexionar al abuelo. "Las nuevas generaciones han pasado a las pantallas y nos han hecho olvidar de los libros en papel. La era digital ha traído nuevas ventajas que nos ha dejado perplejos. Pero, es ante una falla eléctrica que volvemos a valorar los textos". </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> Y sí, al tercer día del apagón, encontró a Miguel sentado en un rincón de la habitación con uno de sus viejos libros de la biblioteca en la mano, muy concentrado en la lectura. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify"> Afortunadamente, la grave falla eléctrica fue solventada al quinto día. Y, si algo bueno le había traído a José era que su nieto aprendiera a amar los viejos y tradicionales libros impresos en papel. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">Miguel was fascinated by reading. Thus, after coming home from school and completing his daily homework, he spent his free time sitting in front of the computer. It was a world of his own that he created in his mind as he delighted in the literary texts that allowed him to live with characters in fantastic environments. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">His grandfather watched him as he passed through the living room. </div> <br>
<div class="text-justify">- My God! - he exclaims with a sigh.</div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">Grandpa José is proud of his grandson. He's intelligent, orderly, obedient... - Miguel is a very quiet boy," he tells his neighbors every day. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">But there is something that worries him. Miguel spends many hours in front of the computer. And he is right. Being exposed to electronic equipment from an early age had caused Miguel frequent headaches, eye irritation and blurred vision. As a result, Miguel, at only 12 years of age, has to wear corrective lenses because of computer vision syndrome. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">That day, around eight o'clock at night, the lights and computers were turned off. Everything went dark. Immediately, little Miguel called his grandfather to help him find some light to go from the living room to the bedroom. They decided to peek together at the entrance to find out what was going on. And, to their surprise, the whole neighborhood was dark. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">It was one of the few times that Miguel broke away from the computer monitor and met with his grandfather. Needless to say, he was forced to do so by the mishap.</div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">The days passed and the situation worsened. There were rumors that a general blackout had affected the entire nation. Something unthinkable and unheard of. How was it possible? Nobody knew. What was certain was that everyone was going through an untenable situation. Food was becoming scarce and people were becoming desperate. </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">The electrical failure made grandfather reflect. "The new generations have moved on to screens and have made us forget about paper books. The digital era has brought new advantages that have left us perplexed. But, it is in the face of a power failure that we return to value the texts". </div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">And yes, on the third day of the blackout, he found Miguel sitting in the corner of the room with one of his old library books in his hand, very focused on reading.</div> <br>

<div class="text-justify">Fortunately, the serious power failure was solved on the fifth day. And, if anything good had come to José, it was that his grandson had learned to love old, traditional books printed on paper. </div> <br>
