<center>  Las úlceras de pie diabético es una de las complicaciones mas comunes en la mayoria de los pacientes diabeticos siendo asi la principal causa de amputación de miembros inferiores, asi mismo presenta un alto índice de mortalidad por infeccion o por mal manejo y cuidados del mismo el cual debe ser brindando con mucha precaucion en el hogar y si los cuidadores del paciente no estan en la capacidad de atender el cuidado e higiene debera ser realizado por el profesional de salud.  Los pacientes que presenten un gran riesgo amputación deberán ser hospitalizados y ser tratados con el tratamiento y cuidado adecuado a esto le podemos sumar otras complicaciones a nivel de los diferentes sistemas el cual afecta de forma negativa el estado de salud en general. Los pacientes con poca higiene del pie diabetico, con edema, eritema, pacientes que han recibido tratamientos y han evolucionado satisfactoriamente entre otros factores deben ser tratados por el personal de salud.  [fuente](https://www.udocz.com/apuntes/282742/pie-diabetico-escala-de-wagner-merrit) Las ulceras pueden clasificarse en 5 grados: grado 0 en donde la piel se mantiene intacta con un leve riesgo se debe fomentar el cuidado de los pies en cuanto al calzado, corte de las uñas, lavados de los pies, de grado 1 ulcera que compromete el tejido sub cutaneo se requiere de cura diaria con solucion fisiologica, de grado 2 ulcera que afecta los ligamentos y tendones es fundamental la eliminacion del tejido necrotico para favorecer la cicatrizacion el paciente requiere reposo, de grado 3 puede afectar los huesos el paciente debe matenerse hospitalizado con tratamientos de antibioticos de igual forma se remueve el tejido necrotico, de grado 4 afecta principalmente los dedos del pie se requiere de tratamiento intravenoso y quirurgico, por ultimo de grado 5 en esta ultima etapa se requiere de amputacion.  El personal de enfermeria debe investigar antecedentes personales entre ellos habitos de fumar, alcoholismo, control de glucemia capilar, leer historial clinico, laboratorios y tratamiento farmacologico, observar las caracteristicas de la piel como edema, eritema, exudado, color de la piel, temperatura.  Por otra parte el personal de enfermeria debe encargarse del manejo del dolor a traves de la administracion de analgesicos según orden medica asi mismo intervenir en realizar actividades como ayudar en la movilidad del paciente, realizar cura diaria de acuerdo al grado de afectacion asi mismo orientar al familiar y paciente los cuidados que deben mantener en el hogar.
