<center>  Dentro del cuidado de la salud masculina se encuentran las medidas preventivas y diagnóstico temprano de enfermedades como neoplasias, existen varios estudios en dónde se determina si el paciente presenta mayor riesgo de presentar el cáncer esto es fundamental para establecer tratamientos de forma temprana.   El cáncer de próstata es una enfermedad que presenta alto índice en el masculino de edad avanzada además es una de las principales causas de muerte en ciertos casos, suelen arrojar complicaciones que avanzan con el tiempo si no es tratado de forma correcta por el médico especialista.  En el aparato reproductor masculino se encuentra la próstata, es una glándula que se encarga de producir el fluido seminal algunos pacientes no suelen presentar manifestaciones clínicas es por ello la importancia de realizar el estudio como forma preventiva.  Entre las principales manifestaciones se encuentran disfunción eréctil y hematuria, los problemas graves comienzan aparecer cuando el cáncer se encuentra en una etapa mayor, el principal factor de riesgo es el adulto mayor así como también la obesidad.  La principal prueba diagnóstica es el tacto rectal el cual es realizado por el médico especialista en dónde se enfoca en detectar anomalías, por otra parte existe un estudio denominado prueba del antígeno prostático estudio realizado a través de una muestra de sangre en dónde se determinan los niveles de esta proteína cuando es alto duele presentar mayor riesgo de presentar cáncer de próstata sin embargo no en todos los casos es así en ocasiones puede ser resultado de ciertas infecciones. Otros de los síntomas comunes son los generales como la pérdida de peso , decaimiento, astenia así como los derivados de la obstrucción que provoca el crecimiento de la glándula, pueden llegar hacer desde polaquiuria hasta una Insuficiencia renal Aguda post renal. Sin duda el Antigeno Prostático Específico (PSA) junto al examen de próstata resultan de gran importancia para el diagnóstico precoz de esta patología perfectamente tratable.
