This is a great point that I've brought up a few times but I've never seen anyone else say it until now.  When it really comes down to it, bloggers around here just write whatever they feel like and expect rewards.  Before Steemit came around, blogging was a really really difficult thing to do and you had to put a TON of work into targeting an audience and promoting your own content in any way possible.  Many bloggers would put in work for an entire year and make ZERO profits.  

Now we get to do everything on easy-mode.  And because we see other people with strong social networks making more money with content that we've decided has less than our own, we then complain about too much money being allocated to "shitposts" while "quality content" falls to the wayside.

Rewarding valuable content is important. 
Do not placing rewards on shit posts is maybe even  more important.
But I think not tiny bit less important is keeping this whole area free from complete garbage (shitposts), from totally non-related to finance/crypto/investing rambles, cheap crap photos with one line comment, and things like that. 
How can we do this?

1. Ignore with your upvote
2. Not hesitate to DOWNvote, if you see this suitable
3. Educate and advice people, what this tribe is meant to be for. Direct them to the right place,  to get more info (like LEOPEDIA)

So far it seems I'm just about the only person here, who remembers such thing as a downvote.
Sometimes it's very thin line, very hard to decide should I go for this or not.

But one thing I know for sure - if all of us do **NOTHING**, very soon this area can be FULL of garbage.
The smel of profit attracts the chasers of "quick buck" more,  than a spoon of honey to wasp's on August afternoon.

Some day, with 10x more users we easy can have 50x times more garbage here. I have learned this in the past.

I think the Leo community does a good job of this, overall.  The whales on here appear to have a different outlook as compared to some elsewhere. 

Many are looking at the larger picture and seeking to contribute in whatever way they can.  Some are bloggers, other curators, and still others work behind the scenes.  We need all of it.

As for content, I just hope people write about what is near and dear to them.  Yes we are a specialized platform, focusing upon finance and crypto.  In the regard, most have valuable information to share since we all have experience in these areas in some form.  However, not all of it is exciting.  For example, writing about bonds would bore me to death and, I am sure, put the readers to sleep.  

That said, writing about LEO, Hive, Tesla, Bitcoin, and crypto in general is really exciting in my view.

Yup, we should be able to greet the new-comers to Leo finance with basic crypto stuff, instead of complex trends & analysis.
I know a lot a common people who had just gave up on crypto because it is far beyond their understanding.
